Mike Evans (hamstring) left Tampa Bay’s Week 7 game against the Ravens and has been ruled out.
Evans had one 25-yard touchdown catch and hit the turf hard on a second end zone target that hit him directly in his hands, writhing in agony before being helped off by trainers. He was already laboring to play through the hamstring and was clearly only a priority target for Tampa Bay in the red zone. This has the look of an injury that could have Evans miss multiple weeks.

Lamar Jackson completed 17-of-22 passes for 281 yards and five touchdowns in Baltimore’s 41-24, Week 7 win over the Buccaneers.
He added nine carries for 52 yards. Four of his touchdowns were fairly elementary — Mark Andrews found himself wide open in (or near) the end zone twice, and a screen to Justice Hill with four blockers in front of him after a failed blitz was an easy walk-in. To formally conclude the game’s competitive section, he dumped it off to Derrick Henry in the red zone for another score. Jackson also mixed in a 59-yard bomb touchdown to Rashod Bateman over Zyon McCollum. He’s playing better than he did last year and he won the MVP last year. Jackson merely threw for 223/1/2 and 186/2/0 against the Browns last year, but he remains a likely QB1 overall rank next week.
  • TB Wide Receiver #14
Chris Godwin (leg) left Tampa Bay’s Week 7 game against the Ravens and did not return.
He had seven catches for 65 yards and nine targets before leaving. His leg was trapped under Roquan Smith’s body weight and ESPN refused to show the replay and immediately speculated that Godwin would likely miss the rest of the season as he was aircasted and carted off. With both of Tampa’s top two receivers leaving Monday night with injuries, the fantasy pecking order is suddenly wide open for the Buccaneers.
  • DET Wide Receiver #9
ESPN’s Eric Woodyard reports Lions WR Jameson Williams is expected to be suspended two games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
ESPN’s wording is a little unclear, but it appears the ban will begin immediately, meaning Williams will miss games against the Titans and Packers. The third-year pro seems to have copped to the crime, telling ESPN he has “no choice but to take it on the chin.” He also said he is “in good spirits just ready to get back with the my brothers ASAP soon as possible.” Williams’ snaps had been down ever so slightly the past two weeks, while his targets have been dwindling for a month. It’s fair to wonder if the Lions have known for a week or two. This is a major rupture of trust between team and player after coach Dan Campbell in particular displayed unwavering public faith in Williams following his gambling ban. It’s possible his role could be decreased upon his return, but he still does things role players like Kalif Raymond and Tim Patrick can’t. Despite the headache and uncertainty, we would keep Williams around on our fantasy benches.
  • TB Safety #23
Buccaneers S Tykee Smith (concussion evaluation) left Tampa’s Week 7 game against the Ravens and was ruled out.
Smith took some friendly fire while trying to tackle Justice Hill near the end of the second quarter. Christian Izien took over at nickel. The Bucs safety was having a nice rookie year and is another big loss for a defensive secondary that has been gotten used to losing big pieces this year.
  • BAL Cornerback #44
Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey (knee) left Baltimore’s Week 7 game against Tampa Bay and was ruled out.
Humphrey’s knee got banged on his second interception of the game, he was checked out in the blue medical tent and walked to the locker room just before halftime. He seemed to be walking just fine, and given Baltimore’s lack of cornerback depth, he would surely have returned if he could have. He was later ruled out.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #89
Cardinals declared DB Kei’Trel Clark, TE Travis Vokolek, WR Xavier Weaver, LB Xavier Thomas, LB Owen Pappoe, and LB Victor Dimukeje inactive for Week 7 against the Chargers.
That means rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will officially return after leaving the team’s Week 6 contest with a concussion after just eight offensive snaps. Rookie wide receiver Xavier Weaver, who was active last week and played 41 offensive snaps after Harrison Jr. departed, is inactive.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #1
Chargers declared WR Quentin Johnston, QB Easton Stick, WR Derius Davis,OL Brenden Jaimes, OL Jordan McFadden, TE Hayden Hurst, and LB Joey Bosa inactive for Week 7 against the Cardinals.
All three of Johnston, Bosa, and Hurst came into Monday listed as doubtful and will ultimately miss the team’s Week 7 contest against the Cardinals. The Chargers are deep at linebacker but losing a player as talented as Joey Bosa is a significant hit. The Chargers are chasing the lone remaining undefeated team in the Chiefs in the AFC West, likely hunting for a wildcard spot out of the division.
  • LV Quarterback #19
Raiders signed QB Desmond Ridder off the Cardinals practice squad.
The Raiders were put in a bind at quarterback after Aidan O’Connell hit injured reserve with a thumb injury. Ridder is likely to serve as the primary backup behind Gardner Minshew while O’Connell is on injured reserve. Ridder was signed to the Arizona practice squad after Clayton Tune beat him out this offseason for the primary backup role behind Kyler Murray.
  • SF Running Back #23
49ers HC Kyle Shanahan told reporters he would be “surprised” if RB Christian McCaffrey were able to play in Week 8.
This makes sense considering the team then goes to their bye in Week 9. The 49ers have been bitten hard by the injury bug this season, notably missing McCaffrey to this point in the season and losing wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to a torn MCL and wide receiver Deebo Samuel to pneumonia in Week 8. That could leave the team extremely thin for the team’s Sunday Night Football matchup against the Cowboys.
  • BAL Running Back #26
Ravens declared RB Rasheen Ali, S Beau Brade, LB Malik Harrison, LB Adisa Isaac, C Nick Samac, and DT Broderick Washington inactive for Week 7 against the Buccaneers.
No major surprises here as the Ravens remain one of the healthier teams in the league. The biggest absence is DT Broderick Washington, normally a starter off the edge for the Ravens.
