Kayshon Boutte led all Patriots receivers in snaps and routes run in Week 7’s loss to the Jaguars.
Boutte saw only two targets and registered one catch for 33 yards, but the second-year receiver continues to see a growing role in New England’s offense. His 37 routes run, per PFF, were the most he’s run all season, and his 50 offensive snaps were the most of any skill position player outside of Hunter Henry (52). Boutte was once considered a future first-rounder after he broke out for 45-735-5 as a true freshman at LSU in 2020. Injuries and poor quarterback play derailed him in 2021 and 2022, which led to him getting drafted in the sixth round of last year’s draft. While he’s far from a reliable fantasy start, it’s worth wondering if the potential he showed in college is starting to shine through in practice, which has led to the increase in playing time.
