ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Rashid Shaheed (knee) is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
It’s an unfortunate end to what was shaping up to be a promising season for Shaheed. Shaheed suffered a knee injury in the Saints Week 6 loss to the Buccaneers, but the team was holding out hope for a return later in the season following meniscus surgery. Instead, per Schefter, Shaheed is now looking at a “four-to-six month recovery.” The third-year receiver’s year ends with 20 catches for 349 yards and three touchdowns.
  • NO Quarterback #4

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports there is “at least a chance” Derek Carr (oblique) returns to practice in Week 8.
Rapoport adds “a lot” would have to go right for Carr to be out there against the Chargers. Carr is missing his second consecutive game Thursday evening against the Broncos, and two weeks was considered the bare minimum time he would be out with his side issue. It’s already desperation time for the Saints’ season, so we have little doubt they will try to force the issue with their quarterback next week. We could get an informal practice report as early as Monday.
  • LV Running Back #3
Zamir White (groin) remained “limited” for Thursday’s practice.
White is ahead of where he was this time last week, but there have not been any concrete signs he is ready to return. He will likely get slapped with a “questionable” tag on Friday. Even if White manages to suit up against the Rams, he’s lost his FLEX benefit of the doubt.
  • LV Wide Receiver #16
Jakobi Meyers (ankle) remained sidelined for Thursday’s practice.
Not good, though coach Antonio Pierce is supposedly optimistic Meyers might go on Friday. That could be more of a status check than anything else. At least for now, fantasy managers need to operate under the assumption Meyers is missing another game in Week 7.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #10
Cooper Kupp (ankle) remained “limited” on Thursday.
It would appear Kupp remained limited to individual drills. He still has a legitimate chance to return Sunday against the Raiders, but it’s possible the post-bye Rams are ramping Kupp up with an eye toward a full return in Week 8. We might not get a firm grip on Kupp’s Week 7 status with the release of Friday’s injury report. Fantasy managers who thought they were getting back their WR1 need to have a back-up plan ready.
  • SEA Wide Receiver #16
Tyler Lockett was added to the Seahawks’ Thursday injury report with a knee issue, missing practice.
It’s concerning in theory, but the Seahawks remain inscrutable with their injury report ways. All we really know for sure is that Lockett is now a player to watch closely on Friday. For now, fantasy managers can keep him penciled in as a WR4/FLEX.
  • DEN Tight End #80
Broncos TE Greg Dulcich is a healthy scratch for Week 7 against the Saints.
It would appear it’s never been more over for the 2022 third-rounder in fantasy. Coach Sean Payton prefers Lucas Krull for his 46-man game-day roster. Joining Dulcich on the shelf are CB Patrick Surtain, QB Zach Wilson, CB Kris Abrams-Draine, OT Alex Palczewski, EDGE Dondrea Tillman and EDGE Eyioma Uwazurike.
  • NO Running Back #25
Kendre Miller is active for Week 7 against the Broncos.
Miller wasn’t listed with an injury this week after he was “healthy scratched” on Sunday following his Saturday return from a hamstring ailment. With fellow RB Jordan Mims healthy scratched, plugged-in Saints reporter Nick Underhill wonders if a “Miller game is incoming” with the Saints’ comically short-handed on offense. There is certainly going to be a run-game commitment as New Orleans looks to hide weapons-deficient rookie QB Spencer Rattler against the Broncos’ elite defense.
  • NO Tight End #7
Taysom Hill (ribs) is inactive for Week 7 against the Broncos.
Hill was supposedly “doubtful.” The fact he wasn’t technically ruled out until just before game time probably bodes well for his odds of returning in Week 8, though by now it’s difficult to expect the 34-year-old to ever stay healthy. Joining Hill on the sidelines are QB Derek Carr, WR Chris Olave, LB Pete Werner, RB Jordan Mims, DT Khalen Saunders and OG Cesar Ruiz.
  • SF Kicker #4
49ers Ks Jake Moody (ankle) and Matthew Wright (shoulder, back) remained sidelined Thursday.
It’s looking like it will be Anders Carlson kicking against the Chiefs on Sunday. That will probably be formalized with the release of Friday’s injury report.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #18
NFL Network’s Mike Garaflolo confirms the Jets are “trying to find a suitor” for Mike Williams.
Garafolo is just confirming the obvious as Williams barely practices this week due to “personal reasons.” Those reasons are he got under-bussed by Aaron Rodgers right as the Jets finally acquired Davante Adams. Having a rough year as he tried to earn Rodgers’ favor, Williams has at least appeared healthy. He will undoubtedly draw legit interest ahead of the Nov. 5 trade deadline, and should have a new home sooner rather than later, albeit one that is unlikely to make him WR4 relevant.
