Matt LaFleur told reporters “We’ll see” about MarShawn Lloyd returning to practice in Week 8.
Lloyd currently resides on injured reserve and is eligible to resume practicing as of today, however, the team has yet to activate his 21-day practice window. LaFleur initially told reporters, he thinks Lloyd is “getting closer” to a return before fielding the Week 8 inquiry. Fellow backup Emanuel Wilson has used Lloyd’s time on injured reserve to sew up the No. 2 RB role, efficiently averaging 5.0 YPC on 42 rushing attempts.

Baker Mayfield (toe) did not practice on Thursday.
Buccaneers beat writer Rick Stroud said he was told Mayfield “will be fine” despite being a DNP on Wednesday and Thursday. It sounds like Mayfield will be good to go for Week 10 against the 49ers, barring any setbacks and will be a mid-to-low QB2 in fantasy.
  • JAX Quarterback #16
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is unlikely to play in Week 10 against the Vikings.
Lawrence’s injury is to his non-throwing shoulder but the Jaguars’ signal-caller is still receiving treatment and continues to “weigh options for the future,” per Rapoport. It sounds like Lawrence could be looking at an extended absence, although nothing is definite at this time. Mac Jones will get the nod in Week 10 if Lawrence doesn’t play. It would be Jones’ first start since Week 12 of last season.
  • CAR Running Back #30
Panthers signed RB Chuba Hubbard to a four-year, $33.2 million contract extension.
Hubbard has served as the Panthers’ bell cow back for most of this season. The fourth-year back has racked up 773 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns in his first nine games and is averaging 17.7 opportunities per game — a career-high. The Panthers’ decision to re-up with Hubbard while rookie second rounder Jonathon Brooks lies in wait is a curious one, but it’s safe to assume both backs will see plenty of work in the coming years. Hubbard’s deal includes $15 million in guaranteed money and he can earn up to $37.2 million with added incentives.
  • BAL Running Back #34
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said it “sounds like there is some optimism” that Keaton Mitchell will play in Week 10 against the Bengals.
Mitchell has been a full participant in practice in each of the last two weeks and enters Thursday as questionable. The explosive former UDFA posted a line of 47-396-2 in eight games last season and was averaging 11 opportunities/gm over his last three games before suffering his season-ending injury. It should go without saying that Mitchell won’t pose a serious threat to Derrick Henry, but he could eat into some of Justice Hill’s snaps as he continues to work his way back on the field. He’s worth a stash in deeper leagues.
  • SF Running Back #23
When asked if RB Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) would return for Week 10 against the Buccaneers, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said, “he’s not hurting.”
Shanahan said a decision on McCaffrey’s active status would be made publicly at kickoff. This likely means the 49ers won’t announce if McCaffrey will return from his Achilles injury until the inactive list releases 90 minutes before the team’s Week 10 game against the Buccaneers. However, Shanahan also said McCaffrey is “not hurting...hopefully he can string together three days in a row.” and his workload “definitely could [be a normal workload], but it also definitely might not.” Shanahan is optimistic about McCaffrey’s health but is purposefully playing coy about his chances of playing or role. With a limited practice Wednesday, McCaffrey is on his way to practicing three days and playing Week 10, but fantasy managers should monitor the situation and keep Jordan Mason on rosters.
  • IND Wide Receiver #11
Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. suffered a finger injury in Week 9 that was “a little dislocation” and “popped” back in place.
Pittman sat a 4th-and-2 play in the fourth quarter of the Colts’ Week 9 loss to the Vikings due to a dislocated finger. The medical staff fixed his finger and Pittman is presumably not dealing with any more issues stemming from it. However, the back injury he suffered in October continues to impact him. Colts head coach Shane Steichen said they are taking it “week-to-week” with Pittman, who continues to start through the injury. He has had one catch in back-to-back games while Josh Downs has been the primary receiver as Pittman continues to nurse his back issue.
Can Pittman Jr., Allen bounce back in Week 10?
Matthew Berry, Connor Rogers, and Lawrence Jackson pick the offensive weapons that they're either starting or sitting in Week 10 following some inconsistent production.
  • TB Wide Receiver #13
Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday’s walkthrough practice.
Evans has been dealing with a hamstring injury that has kept him out since Week 7. He has yet to practice, and the injury is likely to take him through the Bucs’ Week 11 bye. Cade Otton has been the top target with Evans out and his usage will continue until Evans can return.
  • TB Running Back #7
Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (toe) was limited in Wednesday’s walkthrough practice.
Irving has been dealing with a toe injury for the last few weeks and head coach Todd Bowles said the issue may linger throughout the season. Given Irving has played through the toe issue, he is on track to play again Week 10. Fantasy managers can expect Irving to pop up on injury reports down the road, but he is managing the injury and should be good to go barring setbacks.
  • TB Wide Receiver #15
Buccaneers WR Jalen McMillan (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday’s walkthrough practice.
McMillan was sidelined with a hamstring injury for Week 9 and starts out this week not practicing in the Bucs’ Wednesday walkthrough. If McMillan remains out, Cade Otton and Sterling Shepard will be the biggest beneficiaries. Rakim Jarrett will see increased snaps as well as the Bucs’ depleted receiving corps nurse injuries.
  • TB Wide Receiver #17
Buccaneers WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring/hip) did not participate in Wednesday’s walkthrough practice.
Shepard popped up on the injury report with hamstring and hip issues on Wednesday after the Bucs’ Week 9 Monday loss to the Chiefs. Starting off a shorter week, Shepard still has a chance to practice in time for Week 10’s matchup against the 49ers. However, if he cannot go, Trey Palmer remains the primary healthy wide receiver on the team with TE Cade Otton receiving another bump in usage.
