According to Schultz, the Vikings would like to re-sign Murphy, but the 2024 Pro Bowler is expected to test his value in free agency when the legal tampering period opens. Murphy totaled nine interceptions in his two seasons with the Vikings while racking up 138 tackles and another 27 pass breakups. At just 27 years old, he’s expected to have a strong market after last year’s breakout. His PFF coverage grade of 72.6 ranked 23rd among 117 corners (min. 300 snaps).

They will instead save only $2.1 million. Mason started all 32 games he appeared in for the Texans over the last two seasons and earned a 62.3 PFF blocking grade. Far from the player he was during his days in New England, Mason will hunt for a stopgap starting role in free agency.

Just days after being released by the Seahawks, Robertson-Harris will now meet with the Cardinals, who are hoping to improve a defensive line that finished bottom six in pressure rate in 2024. Robertson-Harris split time between the Jaguars and Seahawks last season, earning a PFF defensive grade of 52.8 while totaling 16 pressures and two sacks. He saw his snaps dwindle as his time with the Seahawks went on, as his 398 defensive snaps wound up being his fewest since 2020.

After trying and failing to trade the two-time Pro Bowler, the Commanders will now release Allen in a move that will save them nearly $16.5 million against the cap this season. Allen, 30, suffered a partially torn pectoral muscle last season and was limited to eight regular season games as a result. He returned in time for the postseason, where he totaled 10 pressures and eight quarterback hurries in three games, per PFF, and should generate plenty of interest as teams look to upgrade their defensive fronts.

The restructuring of Al-Shaair freed up $6.26 million in cap space for the upcoming season. Al-Shaair is perhaps most known for his illegal hit on Trevor Lawrence that saw the league levy a three-game suspension against him. Al-Shaair joined the Texans on a three-year, $34 million deal and is under contract through 2026. Last season he totaled 70 tackles and two sacks in 11 games while earning a PFF defensive grade of 68.9.
