  • NYG Wide Receiver #1
The Athletic’s Dan Duggan reports Malik Nabers (concussion) “did much less” in Thursday’s practice than on Wednesday.
Duggan is only privy to the portion of practice open to the media, but it’s still a bad sign for the rookie receiver. Nabers will go down as a DNP when the Giants release their injury report for today. Head coach Brian Daboll told reporters it would be hard for Nabers to clear the league’s concussion protocol if he doesn’t practice on Friday. All signs point to Nabers missing another week with the brain injury. Darius Slayton stepped up with eight catches for 122 yards and a touchdown in Week 5. He would presumably be the team’s top receiver once again if Nabers sits. Slayton is worth an add as a potential WR4 in all fantasy formats.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #11
Josh Reynolds (hand) did not practice Thursday.
Reynolds also missed Wednesday’s practicenand is trending toward missing Week 6’s game against the Chargers if he can’t get on the practice field Friday. Reynolds has a line of 12-183-1 on the season but has totaled just 45 yards on three receptions over the last three weeks. Even if he starts, he can’t be trusted as far as fantasy is concerned.
  • BUF Wide Receiver #10
Khalil Shakir (ankle) did not practice on Thursday.
Unless Shakir can get on the field Friday, there’s a good chance he’ll miss a second-straight game with the ankle injury he suffered in Week 4. The Bills’ No. 1 receiver leads the team in receptions (19) and yards (230), and his absence was noticeable in the team’s Week 5 loss to the Texans. Josh Allen completed a career-low 30 percent of his passes in the defeat, and could be in line for another difficult day against the Jets if Shakir is unable to go.
  • PIT Tight End #88
Pat Freiermuth (calf) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
Freiermuth has frustratingly finished between TE12 and TE15 in four of five games this year. Mid-week injury report additions are never a good sign so the development casts doubt on his Week 6 availability. Freiermuth teased managers with an overall TE2 finish in Week 4 which likely provided a brief sell-high opportunity. If he is unable to practice on Friday, he is a drop candidate.
  • ATL Running Back #7
Falcons added Bijan Robinson (hamstring) to the injury report on Thursday.
This is the second time this season that Robinson has been added to the injury report on a Thursday. He played through presumably the same hamstring injury last week and still managed to get in a limited session on Thursday. We’ll assume this is a minor thing until the team suggests otherwise.
  • PIT Running Back #30
Jaylen Warren (knee) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
The Steelers are bringing Warren along very slowly, which is a positive for his season-long prospects. Unless he is able to fully participate on Friday though, he appears unlikely to play against the Raiders in Week 6.
  • PIT Quarterback #3
Russell Wilson (calf) was a full participant in Thursday’s practice.
Wilson has been a full participant in both practices to start the week. He’s clearly on the mend from a calf injury that’s plagued him for nearly two months, but beat writer Mark Kaboly reported earlier that “indications” seem to be that Justin Fields will start again in Week 6. We may not get any clarity on the starting QB until closer to game-time, but it appears Russ is ready to go whenever he is needed.
  • IND Running Back #27
Trey Sermon (collarbone) was a full participant in Thursday’s practiced.
Sermon finished as the PPR RB7 as the Colts’ Week 5 starter. With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) still sidelined and Sermon back at practice, it looks like Sermon will again operate as the team’s lead running back. He would be a viable RB2 with bye weeks now underway.
  • IND Quarterback #5
Anthony Richardson (oblique) practiced in full on Thursday.
Richardson has practiced two straight days to start the week. The Athletic’s James Boyd went so far as to say he’d “be surprised” if Richardson didn’t play in Week 6 against the Titans. If Richardson can’t go, Joe Flacco would draw yet another start after throwing for 359-3-0 last week, but it sounds like Indy’s QB1 is trending in the right direction.
  • IND Running Back #28
Jonathan Taylor (ankle) did not practice Thursday.
Taylor told reporters that he is “feeling way better” and that the pain “has gone down tremendously. That’s the biggest thing.” The decrease in pain is undoubtedly a positive but unless Taylor is able to practice Friday, he appears unlikely to play. Fantasy managers should plan on him sitting for now.
  • IND Wide Receiver #1
Josh Downs (toe) did not practice Thursday.
This marks two straight DNPs for Downs, who is on track to miss Week 6’s game against the Titans if he can’t get on the field Friday. The Colts’ slot receiver has caught 17 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown in his last two games and is expected to see a bigger role, with Michael Pittman (back) now expected to miss multiple weeks. We’ll likely get a clearer sense of Downs’ Week 6 availability on Friday.
