  • HOU Quarterback #7
C.J. Stroud completed 28-of-38 passes for 331 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in Houston’s 23-20 Week 5 win over the Bills.
He added 27 rushing yards on the ground. The Texans struggled to move the ball late in the game without Nico Collins, as Stroud was picked off deep in Buffalo territory, fumbled deep in Texans territory, and was called for an intentional grounding that pushed the Texans out of field goal range in the fourth quarter. Stroud managed a key five-yard pass on the final drive of the game to give Ka’imi Fairbairn enough space to drill a winning field goal. It wasn’t a pretty game for fantasy managers, but Stroud should remain on the QB1 line for Week 6’s matchup against the Patriots.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #14
Courtland Sutton caught 2-of-5 targets for 32 yards in the Broncos’ Week 5 win over the Raiders.
This is a difficult situation for the big-bodied X-wide receiver. Nix spends so much of his time scanning the short area of the field, Sutton often ends up an afterthought. Sutton could become a reliable WR3 option if Nix continues improving, though he is just a volatile flex option against the Chargers in Week 6.
  • DEN Quarterback #10
Bo Nix completed 19-of-27 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns, adding eight rushes for nine yards and one touchdown in the Broncos’ 34-18, Week 5 win over the Raiders.
Nix effectively ran Sean Payton’s ball-control scheme, keeping pass plays short and quick. He relies heavily on Javonte Williams, sending a team-high six targets his way. Nix is up to three rushing touchdowns on the year, having scored a touchdown on the ground and/or rushed for at least 25 yards in 4-of-5 games. He is a QB2 against the Chargers in Week 6.
  • BAL Tight End #80
Isaiah Likely caught 3-of-3 targets for 13 yards and two touchdowns in the Ravens’ Week 5 overtime win over the Bengals.
Likely’s second and third touchdowns of the season were his first since his monster opener. He actually got out-targeted 5-3 by Mark Andrews, but Likely and Charlie Kolar out-scored Andrews 3-0. It’s just been that kind of year in the Ravens’ skill corps. Catching a six-yard touchdown from Lamar Jackson on a broken play in the fourth quarter, Likely showed better chemistry with Jackson than Andrews has all year. Likely has just 69 yards in four games since Week 1, but his big-play ability keeps him hanging around the top 20.
  • ARI Quarterback #1
Kyler Murray completed 19-of-30 passes for 195 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Cardinals’ 24-23, Week 5 win over the 49ers.
After hitting Trey McBride for a 22-yard gain on the first play of the game, Murray kept a read option on the second play and turned it upfield for a 50-yard score to give the Cardinals an early lead. Murray wound up running seven times for 83 yards in the win, appearing far more willing to make plays with his legs than he did in Week 4 when he ran just once. Entering the half down 23-10, Murray rallied the Cardinals in the second half, scoring 14 unanswered points, which included a two-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Higgins in the fourth quarter. On the Cardinals’ final drive, Murray converted a fourth and five to Marvin Harrison on a 14-yard gain and helped set his team up for what would be the game-winning field goal. Murray wasn’t great in this one, but he was better than what we saw in the previous two weeks. He’ll be a high-end QB2 in the Cardinals’ Week 6 matchup against the Packers.
  • IND Wide Receiver #1
Josh Downs caught 9-of-12 targets for 69 yards in the Colts’ Week 5 loss to the Jaguars.
It’s hard to say a career day was “predictable,” but Downs’ nine receptions were easy to see coming in his first start with Joe Flacco under center. He drew four more looks than any other Colt, catching four more balls than Michael Pittman. It was low-wattage, chain-moving stuff, but that is Downs’ job, especially when it’s a traditional pocket passer like Flacco. Downs will be a safe WR3 if Joe makes another Week 6 start against the Titans, though Richardson will probably begin the week on the right side of questionable with his oblique issue.
  • IND Wide Receiver #11
Michael Pittman caught 5-of-8 targets for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Colts’ Week 5 loss to the Jaguars.
Although Pittman scored his first touchdown of the season, it was actually a disappointing effort with Anthony Richardson fill-in Joe Flacco dropping back roughly 50 times. Flacco spread the ball everywhere, but most frequently to Josh Downs, who commanded a team-leading 12 looks. Pittman’s score was a fourth down one-yarder on the Colts’ opening drive. Despite today’s disappointment, Pittman will again crack the top 24 if Flacco remains under center for Week 6 against the Titans. He’ll be on the WR3/4 borderline if it’s Richardson.
  • CIN Running Back #31
Zack Moss rushed nine times for 24 yards in the Bengals’ Week 5 overtime loss to the Ravens, adding three receptions for 28 yards.
Moss and Chase Brown again played to a usage standstill, though Moss won the snaps battle. That was at least until he rolled his ankle late in the fourth quarter. Moss briefly returned before taking a seat on the bench. The Twitter doctors are speculating it could be a high-ankle sprain. Moss will be someone to monitor closely this week. Even if he suits up for Week 6 against the Giants, Moss is becoming an increasingly lower-upside FLEX.
  • CIN Running Back #30
Chase Brown rushed 12 times for 46 yards in the Bengals’ Week 5 overtime loss to the Ravens, adding three receptions for eight yards and a touchdown.
Brown out-touched Zack Moss 15-12, out-gaining him 54-52. Moss did win the snaps battle. Moss also suffered a late ankle injury, one that had the looks of a potential high-ankle sprain. For now, it looks like that could be the only thing that actually moves Brown decisively ahead of Moss in the Bengals’ backfield. Brown’s catch was a four-yarder where he beat the defender to the pylon. Even if Moss manages to suit up for Week 6 against the Giants, Brown will maintain FLEX juice. He’ll be a top-20 option if Moss sits.
  • PIT Running Back #30
Steelers declared QB Russell Wilson, WR Roman Wilson, RB Jaylen Warren, LB Alex Highsmith, OG Max Scharping, TE MyCole Pruitt, and RB Cordarrelle Patterson inactive for Week 5 against the Cowboys.
The backfield will be missing two of its top three weapons for the team’s Week 5 contest against the Cowboys, leaving Najee Harris likely headed for a robust workload against one of the worst run defenses in the league. Russell Wilson will serve as the emergency quarterback.
  • DAL EDGE #11
Cowboys declared LB Micah Parsons, QB Trey Lance, CB Caelen Carson, RB Deuce Vaughn, DE K.J. Henry, OT Matt Waletzko, and TE John Stephens inactive for Week 5 against the Steelers.
Parsons injured his ankle in Week 4 and was seen in a boot and riding a scooter this week, making his absence in Week 5 unsurprising. The team will also be without secondary wide receiver Brandin Cooks after he was placed on injured reserve this week with an infection in his knee.
