Sam Darnold completed 20-of-28 passes for 275 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in the Vikings’ 31-29, Week 4 win over the Packers.
Darnold also lost a fumble. Darnold’s 275 yards were his most as a Viking, while the three-score effort was his second straight. Spreading the ball around to every conceivable pass catcher to begin the game, Darnold found each of Justin Jefferson, Jalen Nailor, Jordan Addison and Aaron Jones for nice first half gains. He found Nailor and Addison for 1-on-1 strikes as the Pack’s DBs fixated on Jefferson. With the Vikings slowly bleeding a 28-0 advantage, Darnold then locked in with Jefferson after the break. Things got too close, but Darnold made nice plays under pressure. There’s so far been no sign of “seeing ghosts” Darnold despite big Weeks 2-3 sack totals. He went down only twice in Green Bay. Darnold will now have his toughest matchup yet when the Vikings host the team that drafted him, the Jets, in Week 5.
