  • ARI Tight End #85
Trey McBride (concussion) remained “DNP” for Thursday’s practice.
Even a limited Friday practice would put McBride on track to be cleared, but it’s not looking likely at this point. McBride’s absence would funnel ever more looks Marvin Harrison’s way and likely trickle down to Greg Dortch and Michael Wilson, as well. No. 2 TE Elijah Higgins wouldn’t be worth a fantasy stream because the 2023 sixth-rounder’s résumé is just so thin.
  • DAL Running Back #15
Ezekiel Elliott rushed five times for 19 yards in the Cowboys’ Week 4 win over the Giants, adding a five-yard reception.
Given zero high-value handles, Elliott got out-touched 12-6 by Rico Dowdle. He also continued to lose third-down snaps to a young man by the name of Hunter Luepke. With his workloads dwindling since his 12-touch Week 1, Elliott is looking like waiver wire fodder in most 12-team leagues.
  • NYG Running Back #26
Devin Singletary rushed 14 times for 24 yards in the Giants’ Week 4 loss to the Cowboys, adding a 14-yard reception.
Facing the Cowboys’ horrendous run defense, Singletary somewhat surprisingly turned in what was by far his least efficient performance of the young season. The journeyman back seems pretty much locked into 14-18 weekly touches, and the yardage ceiling just isn’t that high in what is a thoroughly unexplosive offense. Those touch numbers will keep him FLEX relevant, but he’s not someone you are excited about starting heading into Week 5 against the Seahawks.
  • DAL Wide Receiver #88
CeeDee Lamb caught 7-of-8 targets for 98 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys’ Week 4 win over the Giants.
We’re getting warmer, though Lamb has still yet to post a 100-yard effort receiving. He did get there from a yards from scrimmage perspective this evening, as he carried the ball three times for eight tallies. He dominated target share on a night were Dak Prescott attempted only 27 passes. Lamb’s score was a 55-yarder where he got a 1-on-1 with a safety then took the DB to school, drawing a taunting penalty in the process. Lamb faces the Steelers in 10 days’ time.
  • DAL Running Back #23
Rico Dowdle rushed 11 times for 46 yards in the Cowboys’ Week 4 win over the Giants, adding a 15-yard touchdown reception.
Dowdle again led the Cowboys’ backfield, this time out-touching Ezekiel Elliott 12-6. Dowdle’s receiving score came on a first quarter screen that required some nifty after-the-catch work to find the end zone. The 12 touches were a new season high, though both Dowdle and Zeke continued to lose third-down snaps to someone named Hunter Luepke. Dowdle will remain a low-ceiling FLEX option for Week 5 against the Steelers.
  • DAL Tight End #87
Jake Ferguson caught 7-of-7 targets for 49 yards in the Cowboys’ Week 4 win over the Giants.
Not an amazing night, but the PPR check cleared. That’s more than most tight ends are doing right now. Being used as summer fantasy drafters hoped since he returned from injury last week, Ferguson is up to 13 grabs over his past two games. That’s going to have to remain a theme for a targets-desperate Cowboys offense. The Steelers await for Week 5.
  • DAL EDGE #11
Micah Parsons was forced from the Cowboys’ Week 4 win over the Giants late in the fourth quarter with a left foot injury.
It seemed like either a sprained foot or potential high-ankle sprain. Parsons was walking, albeit gingerly. The injury came the same night he was evaluated for a “stinger” in the first quarter. Whatever it is, Parsons has 10 days to get cleared for Week 5 against the Steelers, but there is a real chance he is dealing with a multi-week, or perhaps even multi-month, issue. Stay tuned.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #17
Wan’Dale Robinson caught 11-of-14 targets for 71 yards in the Giants’ Week 4 loss to the Cowboys.
The double-digit reception effort was the first of Robinson’s career, though as you can see from the box score, it didn’t amount to a ton of production. 6.5 yards per reception would be a poor mark for a running back. Targeted short of the sticks seemingly every third down, Robinson wasn’t shaking many tackles despite his shiftiness. It was an ineffective game plan from the Giants, but it’s hard to see what their alternatives are. Robinson is really the only viable pass catcher after all-world rookie Malik Nabers, who is now battling a concussion. Up to 18 grabs over the past two weeks, Robinson seems ready to operate as a classic “PPR scam” WR4.
  • NYG Quarterback #8
Daniel Jones completed 29-of-40 passes for 281 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception in the Giants’ 20-15, Week 4 loss to the Cowboys.
Even for him, Jones was checking down with cautious abandon. It was probably for the best, as Jones’ deep ball continued to look anemic post-ACL surgery. Per NFL Network’s Gregg Rosenthal, Jones is now 2-of-14 with an interception on attempts of 20-plus yards this season. Jones has never been a prolific deep ball thrower, but he used to at least be fairly accurate. Elsewhere, Jones targeted Wan’Dale Robinson short of the sticks on so many different third downs that it became genuinely difficult to keep track of how many times he did so. The zero-score night means he remains stuck on four heading into Week 5 against the Seahawks. The concern there is that No. 1 receiver Malik Nabers won’t yet be cleared from the concussion he suffered late in the proceedings Thursday. Jones wasn’t the culprit on Nabers’ injury, but he did lead his wideout into a number of huge hits early in the contest.
  • DAL Quarterback #4
Dak Prescott completed 22-of-27 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns in the Cowboys’ 20-15, Week 4 win over the Giants.
Playing on the road on three days rest, Prescott and the Cowboys committed to grind-it-out, station-to-station passing as their running game remained entirely ineffective. Prescott’s only success down the field came on a 55-yard CeeDee Lamb touchdown where the superstar wideout got a safety 1-on-1 and let nature do the rest. It was an intensely boring effort outside of that second quarter big play, but it got the job done for the Cowboys’ purposes. Struggling for big fantasy days due in part to his limited supporting cast, Prescott seems to be settling into the QB10-14 range. Mike Tomlin’s Steelers are a poor Week 5 road matchup, albeit on 10 days rest.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #1
Malik Nabers caught 12-of-15 targets for 112 yards in the Giants’ Week 4 loss to the Cowboys before departing with a concussion.
Trying to catch a desperation fourth down sideline heave from Daniel Jones late in the fourth quarter, Nabers came down right on his head. He appeared to be briefly knocked out. Not good. He did make his way to the locker room under his own power, but it was the worst possible ending to a game where play-caller Brian Daboll and Jones put Nabers in harm’s way multiple times. He took a lot of big-time hits, especially in the second half. If there’s any “good news,” it’s that Nabers at least has 10 days to get cleared for Week 5 against the Seahawks. Nabers is confirming every week he is a special young player.
