  • CAR Running Back #30
Chuba Hubbard rushed 21 times for 114 yards in the Panthers’ Week 3 win over the Raiders, adding 55 yards and a touchdown on five receptions.
Hubbard functioned as the unquestioned lead back for an offense that finally hit its stride with Andy Dalton under center, handling 26 backfield opportunities to the nine of Miles Sanders. Sanders gained just 30 yards on his touches to the robust 169 yards gained by Hubbard, giving the latter a solid path to fantasy viability moving forward for as long as Jonathon Brooks remains out. Up next for Hubbard and the Panthers is a Week 4 home date with the Bengals.
  • NO Quarterback #4
Derek Carr completed 15-of-25 passes for 142 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Saints’ 15-12, Week 3 loss to the Eagles.
Carr’s reign as the most efficient passer in the league couldn’t last forever and the house of cards came tumbling down versus Philly. Carr had a few near-misses on deep throws to Rashid Shaheed that cost him big gains and potential touchdowns. He had connected with Shaheed for touchdowns from 70 and 59 yards out in his previous two games. Despite playing three quarters of underwhelming football, the Saints got the ball back with a three-point deficit and a minute on the clock at the end of the game. On his second throw of the drive, Carr was pressured by the Philly pass-rush and threw a duck off his backfoot that was easily intercepted by Eagles safety Reed Blankenship. It was a fitting end to a disappointing game from Carr and company. He will look to get things back on track as a high-end QB2 versus the Falcons next week.
  • SF Running Back #31
Isaac Guerendo rushed five times for 19 yards in the 49ers’ Week 3 loss to the Rams.
Guerendo’s 10 offensive snaps and five rushing attempts both mark career-highs for the fourth-round rookie. While he hardly shined on the opportunities, he made no glaring mistakes and should see a slight uptick in touches next week. He is a worthwhile bench stash.
  • SF Running Back #24
Jordan Mason rushed 19 times for 77 yards and caught 2-of-2 targets for 11 yards in the 49ers’ Week 3 loss to the Rams.
Mason largely maintained control of the 49ers’ backfield, though his 84.1 percent offensive snap share among 49ers RBs is his first sub-95.0 percent showing thus far. Mason did see a slight increase in passing game usage though, matching his Weeks 1-2 two-target total this week. He remains a locked-in RB1 against the Patriots in Week 4.
  • DET Tight End #89
Brock Wright caught all four of his targets for 34 yards in the Lions’ Week 3 win over the Cardinals.
Wright is primarily a blocker but could be in line for a larger role next week. Sam LaPorta suffered a sprained ankle late in the first half versus Arizona. He labored through the injury during the second half and his status for Week 4 is now up in the air. Wright would enter the TE2 mix if LaPorta is ruled out, but we aren’t likely to get concrete information on his status until later in the week. Fantasy managers should not be spending much FAAB or burning their waiver priority to acquire Wright.
  • SF Tight End #82
Eric Saubert catches 2-of-2 targets for 41 yards in the 49ers’ Week 3 loss to the Rams.
Saubert was efficient with his targets, effectively exploiting the Rams’ league-worst tight end-coverage unit. He averaged 1.52 yards per route run. He is not a recommended streaming option against the Patriots in Week 4.
  • SF Wide Receiver #11
Brandon Aiyuk caught 5-of-10 targets for 48 yards in the 49ers’ Week 3 loss to the Rams.
Aiyuk’s 48 receiving yards are, unfortunately, his highest single-game sum through three weeks. He was soundly out-played by Jauan Jennings and let his temper flare briefly following a questionably late hit at the end of regulation. Aiyuk is a volatile WR2 against the Patriots in Week 4.
  • SF Wide Receiver #15
Jauan Jennings caught 11-of-12 targets for 175 yards and three touchdowns in the 49ers’ Week 3 loss to the Rams.
All four of Jennings’ raw receiving totals are single-game career highs, as are his five contested catches and four explosive pass plays. The Rams’ secondary had no answers for Jennings, who proved himself worthy of every penny in the two-year, $15.39 million contract he signed this offseason. He should be in Week 4 re-draft lineups against the Patriots.
  • SF Quarterback #13
Brock Purdy completed 22-of-30 passes for 292 yards and three touchdowns and rushed 10 times for 41 yards in the 49ers’ 27-24, Week 3 loss to the Rams.
The 49ers’ heartbreak-loss clouds an otherwise excellent day from Purdy. His 11.2-yard aDOT is the third-deepest single-game average of his career and his 86.7 percent adjusted completion rate was his fourth-best. This is also the first time Purdy has ever reached 10 rushing attempts in one game. The underrated dual-threat is a low-end QB1 against the Bears in Week 4.
  • LAR Tight End #86
Colby Parkinson caught 3-of-5 targets for 21 yards in the Rams’ Week 3 win over the 49ers.
Parkinson technically finished with at team-high six targets though one was ultimately negated. The usage is encouraging but Parkinson remains a frustrating, touchdown-dependent option. He is a TE2 against the Bears in Week 4.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #17
Jaylen Waddle caught 4-of-5 targets for 26 yards in the Dolphins’ Week 3 loss against the Seahawks.
Waddle was invisible in this one through no fault of his own. The Miami passing offense was nonexistent with Skyler Thompson at the helm. Tim Boyle, who came in for Thompson when he left the game with a chest injury, would be un upgrade for Waddle and the rest of the Dolphins pass catchers in their Week 4 matchup against the Titans.
