Bryce Young completed 18-of-26 passes for 84 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception in the Panthers’ 26-3, Week 2 loss to the Chargers.
Young also took a pair of inexcusable sacks for 15 total yards, with one knocking the Panthers out of field goal range in the first half. His pick was an absolutely inexcusable blind dart heave over the middle of the field into a crowd of players. CBS analyst Jay Feely highlighted how Young’s footwork — he was standing on his tippy toes — limited his arm strength. It was yet another stunningly dismal performance, one that generated visible frustration from No. 1 receiver Diontae Johnson. This is spiraling quickly, with head coach Dave Canales needing to think long and hard about what is actually best for Young’s “development,” as it were. The Raiders are not a great road matchup for Week 3 after shutting down the Ravens on Sunday.
