Ezekiel Elliott had ten rushes for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys’ Week 1 win against the Browns, adding two catches for nine yards.
Rico Dowdle, meanwhile, saw eight carries, with half of those coming in the fourth quarter while the Cowboys bled the clock with a big lead. Zeke ran 13 pass routes and two targets on the day while Dowdle had 11 and had one look. It looks like, for now, Elliott is the preferred option in the red zone, which will matter quite a bit for a high-octane Dallas offense. Elliott should be in play as a flex in Week 2 against the Saints.

Jalen Tolbert caught 3-of-6 targets for 19 yards and a touchdown in Dallas’ Week 9 loss to Atlanta.
Since Tolbert’s breakout game against the Steelers in Week 5, he’s been targeted 13 times over three games and managed just 106 yards. The touchdown saved any deep-league or emergency starters, but Tolbert has not shown any signs of being consistently useful for fantasy purposes.
  • BUF Quarterback #17
Josh Allen completed 25-of-39 passes for 235 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in the Bills’ 30-27, Week 9 win over the Dolphins, adding two carries for seven yards.
  • CIN Quarterback #9
Joe Burrow completed 27-of-39 passes for 251 yards, five touchdowns and an interception in the Bengals’ 41-24, Week 9 win over the Raiders.
The Bengals offense continued its ho-hum ways, with Burrow completing his first 15 passes, nearly all thrown less than 10 yards downfield. With Tee Higgins out, the game plan continues to be screen passes to Ja’Marr Chase with short-yardage tosses to tight ends and running backs and the occasional deep shot. It all clicked against a weak Raiders defense as Burrow threw five touchdowns to four different receivers. His sole interception was in the second half, on a screen play to Chase that Raiders DB Jack Jones returned for a touchdown. A 47-yard touchdown to a wide-open Mike Gesicki inflated Burrow’s yardage totals as fantasy managers can expect tight ends and short throws to be a big part of Burrow’s game while Higgins is out. He will have more chances to throw the ball downfield on a short turnaround Thursday game against a weak Ravens defense.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #0
Calvin Ridley caught 5-of-8 targets for 73 yards in the Titans’ Week 9 overtime win over the Patriots.
  • DAL Wide Receiver #83
Jalen Brooks caught 2-of-5 targets for 26 yards in Dallas’ Week 9 loss to Atlanta.
It was the highest volume of targets Brooks has had since Week 6, where he had six in a blowout loss to the Lions. Brooks also set a season-high with the two catches. We’re very happy for him. He is not a recommended fantasy football play in any format at this point.
  • LAC Quarterback #10
Justin Herbert completed 18-of-27 attempts for 282 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers’ Week 9 win against the Browns, adding three rushes for two yards.
Hebert overcame nearly constant pressure — he was sacked six times — to pick apart the Cleveland secondary in an easy victory. It’s the second straight game in which Herbert has thrown for multiple touchdowns in the newly pass-first LA offense. The uptick in drop backs has made Herbert something of a fantasy option as he develops a connection with pass catchers Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.
  • NE Tight End #85
Hunter Henry caught 7-of-8 targets for 56 yards in the Patriots’ Week 9 overtime loss to the Titans.
  • DEN Quarterback #10
Bo Nix completed 19-of-33 passes for 223 yards and an interception in the Broncos’ 41-10, Week 9 loss to the Ravens, adding one reception for two yards and a touchdown.
You read that correctly. Nix caught a touchdown from Courtland Sutton on a “Philly Special” trick play in the second quarter. It was an impressive grab from Nix, who had to box out a Baltimore defender and fall backward into the end zone to score. It was also one of his only highlights of the day. Nix struggled on his deep throws, notably missing Troy Franklin for a long touchdown on a fourth-down in the first half. He sailed the throw to his college teammate, who had a step on his defender in the end zone. The touchdown catch and 36 yards on the ground saved an otherwise poor fantasy outing for the rookie passer. Nix will fall down the QB2 rankings for his Week 10 matchup with a daunting Kansas City defense.
  • DAL Wide Receiver #9
KaVontae Turpin caught 3-of-4 targets for 36 yards in Dallas’ Week 9 loss to Atlanta.
Turpin dropped his lone missed target on Dallas’ final drive of the game. He’s more of a gadget player on offense for the Cowboys than anything else, and his continued presence high in the box score goes to show you how little the non-Lamb/Ferguson receivers are doing for this team right now. Turpin won’t be a recommended start in Week 10 against the Eagles.
  • NE Running Back #38
Rhamondre Stevenson rushed 10 times for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots’ Week 9 overtime loss to the Titans.
