Dolphins released RB Salvon Ahmed.
Ahmed caught on with the Dolphins as an undrafted rookie during the 2020 season. The former Washington Husky rushed 75 times for 319 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season, which included a 23-122-1 performance in Week 15 against the Patriots. Since then, Ahmed has fought to stick around on Miami’s roster. Over the last two seasons, he’s handled 88 carries, taking them for 274 yards and two scores while contributing primarily on special teams. At 25 years old, Ahmed should have no trouble catching on with another team, even if it’s as a camp body over the next few weeks. In addition to Ahmed, the Dolphins also placed wide receiver Willie Snead on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.
