  • JAX Wide Receiver #81
Jaguars signed WR Austin Trammell, formerly of the Rams.
The Jaguars released interior offensive lineman Jack Anderson in a corresponding move. Trammell earned just 10 targets through three NFL seasons, largely operating as a special teams contributor. His 0.6 missed tackles forced per punt return rank seventh among 26 NFL players with at least 25 total returns.
  • CLE Running Back #20
Browns RB Pierre Strong (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday.
Strong has missed the past two weeks with a hamstring injury. D’Onta Foreman has served as Jerome Ford’s backup in his absence. Stong could take over the RB2 gig if he is able to play this week, but there’s isn’t much value to be had in this backfield beyond Ford and eventually Nick Chubb.
  • CLE Tight End #85
David Njoku (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday.
Njoku suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 1 and has been sidelined ever since. He returned to practice for a limited session last Thursday but was then downgraded to a DNP on Friday before being ruled out. It’s possible this was a part of Cleveland’s ramp-up regimen for Njoku. Deshaun Watson desperately needs a reliable underneath target and Njoku would give him just that if healthy. If Njoku is cleared for action in Week 5, he will sit on the TE1/2 border for fantasy purposes.
  • MIN Tight End #87
Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said the team will designate T.J. Hockenson (knee) to return from the PUP list on Friday.
That opens Hockenson’s practice window, giving him three weeks to be officially activated from injured reserve. The Vikings are traveling to London for their Week 5 matchup with the Jets. Hockenson will practice for the first time this year after the team arrives in London. He is still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered in Week 16 of the 2023 season but appears to be progressing quickly. Previous reports have Week 7 as a rough estimate for his return.
  • BAL Guard #72
Ravens OG Andrew Vorhees (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday.
Vorhees was listed as doubtful for Week 4 on Friday and got ruled out with inactives before kickoff. His return to practice suggests the second-year guard will be back on the field this week.
  • NYJ Quarterback #8
Aaron Rodgers (knee) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Head coach Robert Saleh told reporters Rodgers would be a full participant in practice, but the veteran quarterback missed the stretching period at the start of practice, making Wednesday a limited session for him. The expectation is that he will fully participate in team drills, so it doesn’t look like there’s much to worry about here. Rodgers said earlier this week on the Pat McAfee show that he was “a little banged up” but didn’t seem overly concerned. Barring a setback, he should be good to go for Week 5 versus the Vikings.
  • LV Tackle #77
Raiders RT Thayer Munford (knee/ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
The Raiders are taking on water on both sides of the ball because of injuries. Munford missed Week 4 with the knee and ankle issues and now appears set to sit out of Week 5 as well. Third-round rookie DJ Glaze will likely get his second career start versus the Broncos this week.
  • LV Defensive End #98
Raiders EDGE Maxx Crosby (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Crosby didn’t practice last week before being listed as doubtful on the final injury report. Head coach Antonio Pierce told reporters he would not play before the injury report dropped, so even a doubtful tag seemed optimistic. A DNP to start this week suggests he could miss another game because of the ankle issue.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #3
Tank Dell (chest) returned to practice Wednesday.
Dell didn’t practice at all last week before being ruled out, so even a limited session on Wednesday is a step in the right direction. Dell had 17 targets and five carries through three games but no touchdowns and one gain of over 20 yards. Dell could see a reduced workload in his first game back from the chest injury, making him a risky fantasy bet even if he is cleared for action.
  • CAR Guard #68
Panthers OG Damien Lewis (elbow) returned to practice Wednesday.
Lewis suffered a UCL injury in Week 3 and missed Week 4. A return to practice this early in the week suggests he’ll be back after missing just one game. Andy Dalton came back to Earth last week, throwing for two touchdowns and one interception in a losing effort versus Cincinnati. Getting Lewis back in the lineup would help protect Dalton in his third start this season. The Panthers also got defensive tackle Shy Tuttle back at practice on Wednesday.
  • CLE Linebacker #58
Browns LB Jordan Hicks (ribs, elbow, triceps) did not practice Wednesday.
Hicks attempted to play through the rib and elbow injuries last week but only made it five snaps. The tricep issue is a new addition to his status on the injury report. He looks unlikely to suit up in Week 5. Myles Garrett (Achilles) did not practice on Wednesday. He didn’t practice last Wednesday either but was cleared from the injury report entirely by Friday. Garrett is likely on a strict workload management routine and should be expected to play this week, despite the DNP.
