Maryland has had great success producing NFL defensive backs in recent years, and now Brade is ready to join the list. He played mostly free safety while leading the Terps with 85 tackles and 24 stops as a first-year starter. Brade (6’0/203) would allow just one touchdown in 476 coverage snaps with a 77.2 PFF cover grade en route to being named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten for the first time in 2022. This year the team Captain allowed a credible 55% completion rate for 230 yards, however his 19 percent missed tackle rate belies a consistent issue staying in control when flying to the ball. Brade also spent the majority of his reps in the box or slot, which was a stark departure from his free safety days of the prior season. He didn’t do himself any favors with a sluggish 4.65s 40-yard dash and 32.5” vertical (28th%), but he did post a solid 6.89s 3-Cone for a mediocre 5.38 RAS. Brade has decent size but is somewhat stiff and lacks pro-level makeup speed, but his ball production (14 PBU last two years) and instincts could land him a roster spot at the end of training camp.

A 2021 sixth-round pick of the Texans, Lopez was cut by Houston on the eve of the 2023 season. He then managed to become a Cardinals mainstay as a rotational interior lineman. That is what he will remain in Detroit during his age-28 season.

Bosa was being pursued by the 49ers and Dolphins after being released by the Chargers, but ultimately the Bills were able to land the 29-year-old sack artist. Bosa has dealt with injuries over the past three years, but he was still able to pick up 34 quarterback pressures in 2024. He’ll be tasked with getting to the quarterback with Buffalo, and he’ll join Gregory Rousseau along with AJ Epenesa and recently-acquired defender Michael Hoecht to form one of the better pass-rushing groups in the AFC.

Gainwell will join the Steelers after spending the first four years of his career with the Eagles. The 25-year-old has never had more than 84 carries in a season, but could be inline for a larger amount of touches in the Pittsburgh offense. Fantasy managers will want to see what kind of role Gainwell gets in the Steel City, but it’s possible he could tandem with Jaylen Warren in 2025 with Najee Harris now with the Chargers. Warren still seems like the better bet for fantasy success, however.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, $6 million of the $9.5 is guaranteed. The 30-year-old wideout joins the 49ers from division-rival Los Angeles, and he’s coming off a season where he picked up 505 yards and seven touchdowns on 31 catches for the Rams in 2024. He’ll likely be the third wideout for the 49ers to open the season, and while he could be a weapon utilized in the red zone, his target share isn’t likely enough to make him a consistent fantasy option next season.

Sherfield Jr. caught just eight passes in 2024 for 83 yards with one touchdown, but he was a key cog in the Vikings’ special teams. He should assume a similar — maybe identical — role with Denver in 2025.

The Cowboys have kept their special teams battery together, re-signing Anger after extending long snapper Trent Sieg. He returns to Dallas on a two-year deal. The 36-year-old is a two-time Pro-Bowler and averaged 48.5 yards per punt last season.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC the deal is fully guaranteed. Pinnock, 25, finished the 2024 season with 85 tackles and three sacks, and intercepted a pair of passes a season earlier. He’ll likely see plenty of time for the 49ers in the defensive backfield.

Engram has also visited the Broncos since being released by the Jaguars. The Chargers are a team that likes to utilize their tight ends with a heavy run game, but Engram would be a receiving-first addition. He dealt with a shoulder injury last season, limiting him to just 47 receptions for 365 yards. However, he has a 114-catch 2023 season under his belt. Engram would compete with Will Dissly for tight end snaps but also has the ability to take slot snaps and be more of a receiver rather than an in-line blocker.

Williams will be designated as a June 1 cut for cap purposes. The 28-year-old safety was signed to a five-year, $70 million contract back in 2022, but he and Arthur Maulet both are cap casualties that won’t be part of Baltimore’s secondary in 2025. Williams will likely see a decent market as a player that doesn’t turn 29 until September, albeit for nowhere close to the money he was making with the Ravens.

Gilliam is a quality special teams player who sees most of his time on kick coverage rather than on offense.
