Jaguars selected Texas Tech EDGE Myles Cole with the No. 236 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
After four seasons at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, Cole (6’6/278) transferred to Texas Tech where he would start in all 12 games he played in. The Louisiana native had 3.5 sacks to pair with 6.5 TFL’s during his final season with the Red Raiders; rather unimpressive production for a sixth year player. He uses his massive wingspan to stack blockers and dispose of them with relative ease. Like others in the class, he sheds blocks well but does not necessarily have a solid anchor. As a pass rusher, he frequents a rip move and will use his long arms to disengage from tackles as the play develops. His pass rush moves are limited, as represented by his 63.1 PFF grade as a pass rusher, and he displayed little interest in a bull rush on tape. After a quiet career at edge, a switch to the interior with the addition of 25 or so pounds could suit him well. If he can add productive weight, play with good pad level and clean up his 23.3% missed tackle rate from 2023, he could become a successful 3 tech in the NFL.

Eagles LB Zack Baun (groin) did not practice on Friday.
This is a situation to monitor closely. Baun leads all Eagles defenders in both solo tackles (136) and tackles for loss or no gain (19). The star linebacker has a little over a week to rehab the injury. Next week’s injury report should help clarify the injury’s severity.
  • DAL Offensive Coordinator
Cowboys hired Cardinals OL coach Klayton Adams for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
The Cowboys moved quickly with Adams, giving him a virtual interview earlier this week before meeting in person with him today. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones previously stressed the importance of the run game when talking about what the team was looking for in an offensive coordinator. Adams served as Arizona’s offensive line coach for two seasons. The team ranked ninth and seventh in rush yards per game. The next step in the Cowboys’ efforts to improve their ground game will be retooling their backfield. Ezekiel Elliott was cut before the end of the season and Rico Dowdle is a free agent, leaving the team with a massive opening at running back.
  • MIN Coaching Staff
Jaguars interviewed Vikings assistant OC Grant Udinski for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
The young coach has been with the Vikings for three years and has been promoted in each offseason with the team. His work with Sam Darnold in 2024 has drawn the attention of several teams during this hiring cycle, with five interviewing him as a potential offensive coordinator. Most of those teams have since gone in different directions, but the Jags and Texans are still on the board for Udinski. Even if Udinski misses out on an offensive coordinator gig this offseason, he should be calling plays for a team within the next few years.
  • TB Coaching Staff
Buccaneers promoted pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard to offensive coordinator.
The move allows the Buccaneers to preserve schematic continuity, with Grizzard having spent 2024 helping former OC Liam Coen orchestrate the team’s highly successful passing offense. The 34-year-old Grizzard is rapidly ascending through the NFL’s coaching ranks and could be up for head coach consideration within two or three seasons.
  • FA Coaching Staff #23
The 49ers will reportedly interview DeAngelo Hall for their DB coach vacancy.
Hall served as the Panthers’ assistant DB coach over the last two seasons, marking his entry into the NFL coaching ranks. Per The Athletic’s Ben Standig, Hall’s odds of getting the job sound “promising.”
  • PHI Running Back #14
Kenny Gainwell (concussion/knee) did not practice on Friday.
It is unclear as to whether the Eagles gave Gainwell the week off or if he was unable to participate at all due to the concussion but next week’s Wednesday practice should clarify his status. Hopefully, Gainwell’s health is trending in the right direction.
  • PHI Tight End #88
Dallas Goedert (rest/ankle) did not practice on Friday.
Goedert rested through the week, which was always likely to be the case. He will likely resume practicing last week and at least log full participation on Thursday and/or Friday, in the lead-up to Super Bowl LIX.
  • PHI Center #51
Eagles C Cam Jurgens (back) did not practice on Friday.
This marks three straight absences for Jurgens and Dickerson (knee). Both players are expected to resume practicing at some point next week, as the Eagles prepare to face the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
  • PHI Offensive Coordinator
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Saints plan to meet with Eagles OC Kellen Moore for their head coaching vacancy after the Super Bowl.
Moore has already interviewed with the Saints twice. As Pelissero notes, a third meeting can’t happen until after the Super Bowl, hence the timing. The Super Bowl is also conveniently located in New Orleans, making an in-person visit a small ask for Moore. It’s been reported multiple times that Moore is the favorite to land the Saints opening. A third meeting all but confirms that. Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver and Giants OC Mike Kafka have both had multiple interviews with the Saints and are still in the mix.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #6
DeVonta Smith (hamstring) did not practice on Friday.
The Eagles allowed Smith to rest all week which was likely the plan from the get-go. While the added rest is good, the team would surely prefer to have their No. 2 wide receiver healthy less than two weeks before the Super Bowl. Hopefully, Smith hits the ground running next week.
