Panthers selected Mississippi State DT Jaden Crumedy with the No. 200 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The sixth-year player amassed 119 career tackles despite missing 11 career games to nagging injuries. Crumedy (6'4/301) moves surprisingly well for someone of his size, showing the ability to manipulate blockers’ shoulders while also possessing the maneuverability to redirect along the line. He will cede ground to larger offensive linemen at times, especially when double-teamed, and his technique is a bit unrefined. Past coaching is apparent in individual moves and combinations but the execution is still flawed and clumsy despite his moldable 7.54 RAS. It is a bit discouraging to see where Crumedy is in his development considering he is already almost 24. He projects best as a three tech who will need plenty of coaching at the next level. Nevertheless, his physical components could eventually propel him into a prominent rotational role.
