Cardinals selected Texas Tech S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson with the No. 104 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Taylor-Demerson (5’10/197) didn’t get a lot of FBS looks on the 2019 recruiting trail as a running back due to his diminutive size, but Texas Tech coach Matt Wells saw enough in him to extend an offer at cornerback, and the rest is history. He became a starter halfway through the 2021 season as a coverage-centric free safety with elevated slot coverage chops. He went on to accrue 208 tackles, 22 PBU and 10 interceptions, with 75th percentile PFF defensive grades over the last three years. A true speed-merchant, Taylor-Demerson won the Oklahoma state 200 meters championship before blazing the Combine with a 4.41s 40-yard dash (97th%) and a sky-scraping 38” vertical for a Relative Athletic Score of 8.11. The two-time All-Big 12 performer is undersized but has speed to burn and is a plus blitzer who produced a 91st% pass rush grade last year. Taylor-Demerson offers high-low flexibility with an explosive athletic profile and the ability to contribute on special teams while he learns.
