ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports “it doesn’t sound like the Atlanta Falcons have given (Justin Fields) strong consideration.”
Schefter made the disclosure on Monday morning’s Get Up. The quarterback market is already drying up for Fields, and we haven’t even reached the legal tampering period. With Russell Wilson now in Pittsburgh, Baker Mayfield back in Tampa Bay, and the Bears unlikely to keep Fields, Atlanta and Minnesota feel like the most logical landing spots for the former No. 11 overall pick. However, a lack of interest could make a starting gig tough to come by for Fields in 2024. Fields threw for 2,562-16-9 in 13 games for the Bears last season, and added another 657 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Initially expected to cost teams a second or third-round pick on the trade market, it’s possible teams would rather take their shots on free agency or in the draft to improve their quarterback position rather than use a Day 2 pick on Fields.
