ESPN’s Jeremy Fowlers reports the Jets will release TE C.J. Uzomah.
The Jets would save about $5 million against the salary cap with Uzomah’s release. Uzomah was a complete disaster for New York in 2023, managing eight receptions, 58 yards, and one touchdown in 12 games. At best, Uzomah, 31, will catch on with another team as a situational player.

Matt Eberflus told reporters Caleb Williams “looks to be fine” after Williams injured his ankle in the Bears’ Week 9 loss to the Cardinals.
The report comes from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Williams injured his ankle on the Bears’ final drive and was clearly limited in his on-field movement afterward. Early indications suggest Williams is okay but the team will undoubtedly give the injured ankle a closer look on Monday.
  • DET Running Back #5
David Montgomery ran 17 times for 73 yards in the Lions’ Week 9 win over the Packers.
Montgomery out-touched Jahmyr Gibbs 20-12 but could not find the end zone in this one. The veteran running back pounded his way to 73 yards on the ground, with his longest run coming on a 12-yard gain in the fourth quarter, and put the game on ice with a 14-yard reception. He remains a must-start for fantasy managers rostering him and will be a boom-or-bust RB2 against the Texans in Week 10
  • CHI Tight End #85
Cole Kmet caught 0-of-0 targets in the Bears’ Week 9 loss to the Cardinals.
Kmet’s 45 receiving snaps led all other Bears tight ends by 35, and ranked fourth on the team overall. He somehow finished as the only Bears “pass catcher” who failed to earn a single target. Kmet can be dropped in re-draft leagues.
  • JAX Wide Receiver #11
Parker Washington caught 3-of-6 targets for 41 yards in the Jaguars’ Week 9 loss against the Eagles.
Filling in for Christian Kirk (shoulder, IR), Washington ran a full complement of pass routes and was second on the team in targets behind Evan Engram. Washington, perhaps unsurprisingly, did not seem to be on the same page with Trevor Lawrence on a couple second half throws that fell incomplete. Washington figures to be an every-down wideout for the Jaguars until Gabe Davis returns from injury. He might be a WR4 option in Week 10 against the Vikings.
  • GB Wide Receiver #11
Jayden Reed caught 5-of-6 targets for 113 yards in the Packers’ Week 9 loss to the Lions.
Reed’s impressive outing was buoyed by a 100-percent catch rate on passes that traveled 20-plus yards downfield. Reed hauled in all three deep passes that came his way, as those receptions accounted for 101 of his yards on the afternoon. It was the third time this season that Reed has exceeded the century mark and the sixth time he’s hit 50 or more receiving yards. He enters his Week 10 bye on a high note and will look to build on this performance when he returns in Week 11 against the Bears.
  • PHI Tight End #81
Grant Calcaterra caught 5-of-5 targets for 30 yards in the Eagles’ Week 9 win against the Jaguars.
Working as the team’s No. 1 tight end with Dallas Goedert (hamstring) still sidelined, Calcaterra was second among Eagles pass catchers in targets, functioning as a reliable dump off option for Jalen Hurts. Calcaterra, who ran a pass route on 32 of Hurts’ 37 drop backs against the Jags, now has eight catches for 88 yards over the past two games. He should be viable in deeper leagues for as long as Goedert is sidelined.
  • NO Wide Receiver #84
Mason Tipton was held without a catch on three targets in the Saints’ Week 9 loss to the Panthers.
It’s an awful box score considering Bub Means was sidelined and Chris Olave departed with another concussion. Derek Carr deserves a large part of the blame, but Tipton would have done more here if he were seriously threatening to start posting better box scores. The UDFA has exceeded 20 yards one time all season.
  • GB Wide Receiver #9
Christian Watson caught 3-of-7 targets for 37 yards in the Packers’ Week 9 loss to the Lions.
Watson failed to capitalize on his team-high seven targets, totaling just 37 yards while also failing to haul in all three of his deep targets. Watson did secure a two-point conversion late in the game, but Sunday marked another disappointing outing for Watson, who has gone for less than 40 yards in five games this season. Watson and the Packers are now headed for their bye week and will return in Week 11 to face the Bears.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #2
DJ Moore caught 4-of-9 targets for 33 yards in the Bears’ Week 9 loss to the Cardinals.
Moore’s nine-target sum fell one shy of Keenan Allen’s 10 but many of Caleb Williams’ passes were thrown errantly, on the move, and occasionally under duress. The Bears’ playcalling is failing the offense as a whole though. Williams connected with his receivers on quick-hitting routes but he was too quickly fleeing the pocket and trying to turn each play into a highlight. Moore is a WR3 against the Patriots in Week 10.
  • GB Running Back #8
Josh Jacobs ran 13 times for 95 yards in the Packers’ Week 9 loss to the Lions.
Jacobs averaged a solid 7.2 yards per touch in this one but fell victim to a dysfunctional offensive performance by the Packers. He was stuffed for a stop on fourth-and-one in the fourth quarter and never heard from again, watching from the bench as the Packers drove downfield on the following drive and Emanuel Wilson punched in a two-yard run. Jacobs wasn’t benched; the game was simply out of reach. With a Week 10 bye on tap, the next time we’ll see him will be in Week 11 when the Packers take on the Bears.
