NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Panthers are hiring Buccaneers assistant head coach and run game coordinator Harold Goodwin to the same roles.
Goodwin has been with the Buccaneers since 2019, working as the team’s run game coordinator and assistant head coach. Prior to that, he was the Cardinals’ offensive coordinator. New head coach Dave Canales is building out his staff in Carolina, bringing over multiple assistants from Tampa Bay. Goodwin will now be the assistant head coach and run game coordinator working with the offensive line for the Panthers.
  • GB Wide Receiver #87
Matt LaFleur told reporters he is “hopeful” Romeo Doubs will “come back and get ready to work” after their scheduled meeting on Monday.
LaFleur was asked about the impact Doubs’ suspension had on the team and whether he expects Doubs to return for Week 6. LaFluer began by saying he is “looking forward to our conversation tomorrow. So, I fully anticipate him coming back,” before clarifying, “I’m hopeful that he’ll come back and get ready to work.” LaFleur then complimented the team’s response to the Doubs-related turbulence, saying “Distractions happen in the National Football League... and you’ve gotta do your best to just focus on the task at hand—and I thought our guys did a pretty good job of that.” While the scheduled meeting is a positive, this issue has yet to be fully resolved.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #3
Odell Beckham did not catch either of his targets in the Dolphins’ Week 5 win against the Patriots.
Beckham (knee) made his season debut and ran a route on just 28 percent of Miami’s drop backs. OBJ worked as the distant WR3 option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, who combined for a 55 percent target share against the Patriots. Beckham is a long way from fantasy relevance, though he could see his role grow following the team’s Week 6 bye.
  • NE Wide Receiver #84
Kendrick Bourne caught his only target for six yards in the Patriots’ Week 5 loss against the Dolphins.
Making his season debut following a 2023 ACL tear, Bourne’s playing time was very much limited against Miami. He ran a route on 27 percent of the Patriots’ drop backs and saw just one look from Jacoby Brissett. It will likely be weeks before Bourne is fully integrated into the moribund New England offense. Even then, he has little chance of being a reliable fantasy play.
  • GB Running Back #31
Emanuel Wilson had six rushes for 24 yards in the Packers’ Week 5 win against the Rams, adding one catch for -9 yards.
Wilson had seemingly narrowed the gap between himself and Josh Jacobs coming into Week 5, but found himself well behind Jacobs against La. Jacobs logged 19 carries for 73 yards and the team’s only rushing touchdown. Wilson would presumably slot in as the Packers’ starter if Jacobs were to miss time.
  • GB Wide Receiver #18
Malik Heath caught 2-of-3 targets for 14 yards in the Packers’ Week 5 win against the Rams.
Heath appeared to be the Packers’ No. 3 receiver with Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs out against the Rams. Heath ran a route on 72 percent of Green Bay’s drop backs and played well ahead of Bo Melton. Heath could have some fantasy interest in Week 6 if Watson and Doubs remain sidelined.
  • GB Wide Receiver #11
Jayden Reed caught 4-of-6 targets for 78 yards in the Packers’ Week 5 win against the Rams, adding two rushes for 19 yards.
Reed ran past the Rams’ two high safety coverage and caught a gorgeous moon ball from Jordan Love for a 53-yard gain in the first quarter, setting up Green Bay’s first touchdown of the game. The Packers continued to use Reed as a rusher; he now has at least two rushing attempts in four of his five games in 2024. Among the most efficient wideouts in football when Love is under center, Reed could have a field day in Week 6 against the Cardinals.
  • GB Tight End #85
Tucker Kraft caught 4-of-5 targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ Week 5 win against the Rams.
Kraft had the biggest play of the day for the up-and-down Packer offense — a 66 yard catch and run score on a well designed play that left Kraft wide open 15 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. It’s Kraft’s second straight big game; last week, he logged 53 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings. He ran a route on a solid 80 percent of Jordan Love’s drop backs against the Rams. Kraft will continue to be a must-start option against a poor Arizona secondary in Week 6.
  • LAR Running Back #22
Blake Corum had five rushes for 25 yards in the Rams’ Week 5 loss against the Packers.
Corum spelled Kyren Williams, who had 22 rushes, mostly in the second half. For the first time this season, it looked like Corum was the team’s No. 2 back instead of Ronnie Rivers. It would stand to reason Corum would be in line for a decent workload if Williams were to miss any time in 2024.
  • SF Kicker #4
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports 49ers K Jake Moody will miss multiple weeks after being diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain.
Per Schefter, Kyle Shanahan said, “So we’ll get [a kicker] in as fast as possible and get the best guy we can.” Moody entered Week 5 as the overall K3 in fantasy scoring. His loss is significant for fantasy squads, though his replacement will likely have streaming value in the 49ers’ efficient and explosive offense.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #5
Tutu Atwell caught 6-of-10 targets for 58 yards in the Rams’ Week 5 loss against the Packers, adding one rush for seven yards.
Atwell was tied for second in targets on the day in what was a pass-heavy outing for Matthew Stafford and the injury-plagued LA offense. Atwell ran a pass route on 84 percent of Stafford’s drop backs and had a couple near-misses on downfield attempts, including one ball that was intercepted. Atwell will revert to rotational player status if Cooper Kupp or Puka Nacua are able to return to the Rams lineup following their Week 6 bye.
