Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said that Ben Johnson landing the Commanders’ head coaching job is “not a slam dunk.”
As Schefter points out, Johnson could very well land the Commanders’ head coaching job, but the team is also “pretty impressed” with Mike Macdonald, Aaron Glenn, and Anthony Weaver, who are all scheduled to have second interviews with the Commanders this week. Schefter also noted that the Seahawks are still expected to meet with Seahawks, despite them being closely connected to Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. The Commanders will likely name a head coach in the coming days, but despite Johnson long being considered the odds-on favorite, it sounds like the public may be sleeping on other candidates.
