The Athletic’s Tashan Reed reports the Raiders had second interviews with three different general manager candidates.
According to Reed, the Raiders held second interviews with interim GM Champ Kelly, former Chargers GM Tom Telesco, and Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds. Reed also adds that owner Mark Davis “expressed hesitation” about hiring a rookie GM and head coach, which could tilt the job in Telesco’s favor. Telesco last served as the Chargers’ GM from 2013 through 2023 and was fired last December when the team also opted to cut ties with coach Brandon Staley.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Jalen Hurts (concussion) is “unlikely” to play in Week 17 against the Cowboys.
Hurts missed Wednesday and Thursday’s practice after leaving Sunday’s loss to the Commanders, and all signs point to the star 26-year-old missing the contest. Kenny Pickett was also injured in that game, but it looks like Pickett is going to be the starter for the contest against Dallas. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
  • DAL Wide Receiver #83
Jalen Brooks (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Thursday.
Brooks has gotten in limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday after missing the Week 16 win over the Buccaneers. Because of a plethora of injuries for Dallas he could see some targets in Week 17 against the Eagles, but fantasy managers should look elsewhere even if he does get the chance to play.
  • ARI Cornerback #28
The Cardinals did not activate CB Elijah Jones (heel) during the three-week window.
His season is officially over. Jones was a third-round pick but wasn’t able to play at all due to his heel issue. He’ll turn 25 in January, and assuming good health he’ll compete for a spot in the rotation for the 2025 campaign.
  • CHI Running Back #20
Bears declared RB Travis Homer, DB Elijah Ricks, OL Teven Jenkins, DL Zacch Pickens, LB Noah Sewell and DB Tarvarius Moore inactive for Week 17 against the Seahawks.
Homer will not be able to go for the Thursday Night Football bout against his former team. The 26-year-old sits with DeAndre Swift, Roschon Johnson and Darrynton Evans the active tailbacks for the contest.
  • SEA Quarterback #15
Seahawks declared QB Jaren Hall, OL Michael Jerrell, CB Nehemiah Pritchett, LB Patrick O’Connell, TE Brady Russell and WR Cody White inactive for Week 17 against the Bears.
Hall will be the emergency third quarterback for the Seahawks for a second straight week, and will only play if there are injuries to Geno Smith and Sam Howell in the Thursday contest vs. Chicago. A reminder that Kenneth Walker III was placed on injured reserve prior to Thursday’s game, so he is not listed among the inactives.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #11
A.J. Brown (knee/rest) was listed as a limited participant during Thursday’s practice.
It’s likely just a case of Brown getting some needed maintenance, but the fact that they include the knee in the injury report means fantasy managers need to pay close attention to Brown in the coming days. He’s coming off a Week 16 effort that saw him receive 15 targets that turned into 97 yards and a score, and he’ll likely see that kind of volume again against the Cowboys if he can go.
  • DAL Wide Receiver #1
Jalen Tolbert (finger) was listed as a limited participant for Thursday’s practice.
Tolbert has now been listed as limited for the Wednesday and Thursday sessions. He injured the finger against the Buccaneers during Sunday Night Football and was unable to return, and it sounds like the 25-year-old is far from a sure thing for the Week 17 bout against the Eagles.
  • NO Tight End #83
Juwan Johnson (foot) was limited during Thursday’s practice.
That makes back-to-back “LP” designations for the 6-foot-4 tight end. He’s coming off a game where he only received two targets in the blowout defeat to the Packers, and his fantasy value is extremely limited if he does get the chance to go in Week 17 against Las Vegas.
  • NO Quarterback #4
Derek Carr (hand) did not participate in Thursday’s practice.
Carr is almost assuredly going to miss the Week 17 game against the Raiders, his former team. The means Spencer Rattler is going to make the start, and it’s a completely untenable fantasy situation for any New Orleans offensive player.
  • ATL Wide Receiver #5
Drake London (knee) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
That’s two straight limited practices for London, who suffered his injury in the Falcons’ Week 16 win over the Giants. The Falcons’ WR1 appears to be on track to play in the pivotal Week 17 matchup against the Commanders, but we’ll know for sure when the team releases its final injury report on Friday.
