James Cook rushed 18 times for 61 yards in the Bills’ Divisional Round loss to the Chiefs, adding four receptions for 21 additional yards.
A dropped touchdown by Cook would have made for a more productive day, but the second-year back was leaned on early and often by Buffalo. Cook ground out several chunk gains early in the game but was bottled up for much of the second half. A promising year for the second-year back ends on a low note, but Cook should carry plenty of fantasy upside heading into 2024. His 1,567 yards from scrimmage were second only to Christian McCaffrey and Breece Hall, while his 5.6 yards per touch ranked among the best backs in the league. While it’s possible the Bills will bring in additional competition for Cook this offseason, we’d expect him to thrive again in an RB1 role in 2024.
