NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt suffered a torn MCL in Week 18 against the Ravens.
Watt will undergo further testing to confirm the diagnosis, but all signs point to him missing multiple weeks because of the knee injury. A win over Baltimore on Saturday put Pittsburgh in a good position to secure a playoff spot. They need a loss from the Jaguars or Bills to land a wild card bid. However, barring a deep playoff run, Watt is done for the year. He tallied 19 sacks, 19 TFLs, four forced fumbles, and eight pass breakups. Watt will likely finish the year as the NFL’s sack leader and has a shot at earning the Defensive Player of the Year award, though Cleveland’s Myles Garrett is the favorite.
