Jaguars selected Oklahoma State EDGE Tyler Lacy with the No. 130 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Lacy (6’1/279) is a former three-star recruit and plus-sized edge player who frequently lined up at three tech to take advantage of his prodigious strength (30 bench reps - 84th%). An experienced player who started 40 games for the Cowboys, Lacy is a brick wall on the edge who rarely is driven backward. His gigantic 10.875” hands are like vice grips when shedding blocks, which is reflected in his superb 87.4 PFF run defense grade and solid 10% missed tackle rate. Lacy’s 5.11s 40-yard dash (60th%) is fine for interior work at his size, but presents an issue off the edge when every tenth-of-a-second matters at the NFL level. Still, he gets really good leverage when firing out of his stance but can get overwhelmed inside by more physical guards. A three-time Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honoree, Lacy can play multiple positions on the line and is ideally suited to be a versatile run-down specialist.
