The Commanders announced they are interviewing Falcons QB coach Charles London for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
London first broke into the NFL in 2007 when he joined the Bears as an offensive quality control coach. He would later leave to serve as the Texans’ running back coach but returned to Chicago in 2018 before joining Arthur Smith as the Falcons’ quarterbacks coach in 2021. London also has experience as a scout but has never held an offensive coordinator position at the NFL or college level.

Tee Higgins (quad) as questionable for Week 8 against the Eagles.
Higgins suffered the quad injury in practice on Friday and was listed as limited before drawing the questionable tag. It’s an ominous sign for the veteran receiver given his recent injury history. He missed the first two games of the year with a hamstring injury. If Higgins is forced to miss Week 8, Ja’Marr Chase would dominate the targets for Cincinnati and Andrei Iosvias would enter the mix as a FLEX option. Iosivas caught five passes for 33 yards and two touchdowns in the first two weeks of the season.
  • CHI Cornerback #6
Bears ruled out CB Kyler Gordon (hamstring) for Week 8 against the Commanders.
The Bears’ interior coverage unit is thin for this one. Gordon mans the slot and S Jaquan Brisker (concussion) is also unable to play. If Jayden Daniels (ribs) is good to go, these losses could prove pivotal.
  • NO Wide Receiver #12
Chris Olave (concussion) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 8 against the Chargers.
Olave was upgraded to a full practice on Thursday and cleared the league’s concussion protocol on Friday. He is good to go after missing one game because of the brain injury. With Rashid Shaheed done for the year, Olave will dominate the Saints’ targets. Even with Spencer Rattler throwing the passes, Olave will be a volume-based WR2.
  • MIN Tackle #71
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Vikings LT Christian Darrisaw (knee) will undergo season-ending knee surgery.
Darrisaw left the Vikings’ Thursday matchup with the Rams late in the second quarter because of the knee issue. He underwent an MRI this morning that revealed an injury severe enough to require season-ending surgery, though Rapoport didn’t report the exact nature of the problem. David Quessenberry took his spot in the lineup in the second half. Darrisaw is one of the best left tackles in the league and signed a $113 million contract in the offseason. His loss will be a notable blow to an offense that has played stunningly well under journeyman Sam Darnold.
  • JAX Tackle #74
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said he misspoke earlier when he said LT Cam Robinson cleared concussion protocol.
With Robinson not yet out of concussion protocol, there’s a distinct possibility he will miss Week 8’s game against the Packers. If he cannot go, the Jaguars will likely start Walker Little at left tackle, who replaced Robinson in Week 7 after he departed from the game.
  • ATL Safety #31
Falcons S Justin Simmons (hamstring) is doubtful for Week 8 against the Buccaneers.
While Simmons is doubtful, the Falcons have also ruled out LB Troy Andersen (knee), which could potentially leave them without two of their top defensive players. The Falcons will face a depleted Buccaneers receiving corps, but that doesn’t do much to soften the impact of Simmons and Andersen sitting.
  • CLE Quarterback #17
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said Dorian Thompson-Robinson (finger) will back up Jameis Winston in Week 8 against the Ravens.
DTR injured his right middle finger in Week 7. He left the game and Jameis Winston took over. Winston was announced as the starter earlier this week. Thompson-Robinson is, however, at least healthy enough to be active as the QB2.
  • CLE Tackle #71
Browns OT Jedrick Wills (knee) will not play in Week 8 against the Ravens.
Wills suffered a season-ending knee injury last year and missed a few games at the start of this season while recovering. He returned in Week 3, re-aggravated the issue and missed another game, but was back in action once again for Week 5. At this point, the Browns may need to sit him for an extended period of time. Right guard Wyatt Teller is listed as questionable.
  • NYJ Linebacker #7
Jets HC Jeff Ulbrich said Haason Reddick will make his team debut in Week 8 against the Patriots.
The Jets must still activate Reddick from the exempt list, but that will happen soon. With a reworked contract for the remainder of this season, the star pass rusher will now look to add to a defense that was bludgeoned for 409 yards and 37 points by the Steelers last week. Reddick has totaled 38 sacks in his last three seasons and has four straight seasons with double-digit sacks under his belt. He should have plenty of chances to get after the quarterback in this week’s game against the Patriots.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #10
Jets WR Allen Lazard (chest) will be a game-time decision for Week 8 against the Patriots.
Even if he is active for Week 8, Lazard’s fantasy upside is not what it was before the team went out and traded for Davante Adams. Lazard caught four targets in last week’s loss to the Steelers, this came in a game the Jets lost 37-15. In a more positive game script, it wouldn’t be surprising if Lazard saw less work. He’s off fantasy radars this week.
