This was first reported by KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson earlier in the day, but the team didn’t confirm it until later in the evening. LaFleur’s dismissal was inevitable after the Jets finished the 2022 season with one of the worst offenses in the league. In addition to having the third lowest EPA per play, the Jets also finished 29th in the league in points per game (17.4) and 25th in yards per game. Whoever takes over as the next offensive coordinator will have their hands full figuring out the team’s quarterback position, but enough offensive weapons are in place to make for a potentially less painful turnaround.

After filling in for the injured Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua early in the season, Johnson has now been inactive for three of the previous four games for the Rams, with his only active game coming in Week 18 when the Rams rested both Kupp and Nacua. Expect Demarcus Robinson to join the top two receivers from 11-personnel while Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington fill situational roles.

This is only news after head coach Kevin O’Connell failed to comment on who the backup quarterback would be for the Vikings’ Wilcard matchup with the Rams. Nick Mullens will fill the position should something happen to starter Sam Darnold. Also inactive for the Vikings are DL Levi Drake Rodriguez, C Dan Feeney, OT Walter Rouse, and LB Pat Jones II.

It isn’t often we see a team request an interview with a coach within their division, but the Bears have formally requested to interview Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich. Stenavich has served in the position in Green Bay for the previous two seasons. Although it is head coach Matt LaFleur that calls offensive plays, Stenavich had a significant hand in the turnaround of the offense in 2024, particularly considering his extensive experience as a run game coordinator. This would be a step up for the longtime offensive coach as the Bears continue their search for a new head coach.

This makes six candidates to get a second interview for the Titans’ general manager vacancy as the team looks to find the right candidate to take the team currently holding the No. 1 overall pick into the 2025 NFL Draft into the future. Sullivan’s relationship with Titans President of Football Operations Chad Brinker could give him an inside edge on the job, but it’s clear the Titans will exhaust all options as to get things right post Ran Carthon.

Gray has served in his current role for three seasons and has worked eight seasons with the Bills overall. Gray arrived on the scene a year before the Bills drafted Josh Allen in 2018 and has been present for each of the team’s double-digit win seasons over the last six years. He’s one of several candidates to be granted second interview for the Titans’ general manager vacancy.

Cunningham is one of several candidates to earn a second interview for the Titans’ GM opening. This is familiar territory for Cunningham, who was a finalist for the Titans’ GM role two years ago before the team opted to hire Ran Carthon, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he was a top candidate again this year. Cunningham has been in his current role since 2022 and has helped the Bears slowly turn the corner despite still having a ways to go before looking like a true contender in the NFC North.

Spytek was one of two members from the Buccaneers’ front office to meet with the Titans over their general manager vacancy. Spytek has been in his current role for the last two seasons. The Buccaneers have qualified for the postseason for five straight years and nearly defeated the Commanders in the NFC Wild Card Round if not for a late fumble by Baker Mayfield. Spytek is one of several candidates to earn a second interview with the Titans, as they continue to search for Ran Carthon’s replacement.

Dodds is one of five names (so far) the Titans have been linked to via second interview, including Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borgonzi, Bucs assistant GM John Spytek, Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham, and Bills executive Terrance Gray. Where is Ruston Webster when you need him? Dodds has been interviewed several times over the past few years, including multiple interviews with the Raiders last year and single interviews with the Panthers and Chargers. Dodds has been the Colts assistant GM to Chris Ballard since 2018 and has also worked for the Seahawks and Raiders as he climbed the ranks.

“There will be several others,” Rapoport writes of his report linking Borgonzi, John Spytek, and Ian Cunningham to second interviews with the Titans. The process, folks, is truly the best. Whoever the Titans hire will ultimately wind up working under president of football operations Chad Brinker, but only so many general manager vacancies exist in the league. Borgonzi has been with the Chiefs since 2009 and is currently second-in-command to GM Brett Veach in Kansas City.

This is not exactly an unsurprising development, as Jerry Jones insisted that former head coach Mike McCarthy keep Moore on staff. Moore has had interview requests from the Jaguars and Saints thus far. Moore played for Cowboys from 2015-2017, was their quarterbacks coach in 2018, and their offensive coordinator from 2019-2022. The Cowboys have not officially started the interview process yet as they didn’t formally let go of McCarthy until a few hours ago, but Moore will almost certainly be in the mix to be Dallas’ next head coach as Jones leans on his familiarity with the candidates.
