Chargers selected Memphis OL Dylan Parham with the No. 90 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Parham (6’3/311) began at Memphis as a 230-pound TE, moved back to defense for the end of his redshirt year, and then converted to offensive line heading into his second year. Parham ended up starting 51 games over the next four years, earning first-team all-AAC honors at right guard as a fifth-year senior. He comes with a pliable lower half and doesn’t lose the leverage game. Parham takes the lead early in reps by getting under his opponent’s pads and keeps fish on the hook by exploding through his hips and sealing off the play-side with footwork. Parham gained 80 pounds at Memphis to get here, but he’s always going to have the frame of a smaller player. You won’t beat him with leverage or movement, but power players have a way of dislodging his anchor. Considering his athleticism (88th-percentile relative athletic score), average play strength, and a thin frame, we see Parham as a center at the next level.
