Bucs traded up with the Bills to select Central Michigan OL Luke Goedeke with the No. 57 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Goedeke (6'5/312) started 25 games at right tackle after beginning his career as a tight end. That late switch means Goedeke has a lot of room to grow. His lack of length will always be an issue (11th percentile arm length), but he competes with the best of them and has the power and speed to make it in the NFL. He excels the most in the run game (94.3 run block rating per PFF) where he can drive through defenders. His short arms do let him down in pass protection at times, though, and many foresee a switch to the interior where that won’t hurt quite as much. That is also where the Bucs need help, so guard should at least be his initial position at the next level.
