Former Northwestern sophomore S Brandon Joseph has transferred to Notre Dame.
Joseph (6'1/192) could have opted to take his talents to the 2022 NFL Draft, and was considered the second best safety of the 2022 NFL Draft by Pro Football Network’s Oliver Hodgkinson last May. Instead of declaring for the draft, Joseph opted to enter the transfer portal and is now headed to Notre Dame for the 2022 season. This season for the Wildcats, Joseph totaled 80 tackles, two pass breakups and three interceptions while playing on 816 defensive snaps according to Pro Football Focus, garnering a pass coverage grade of 77.2. Joseph was a consensus All-American in 2020 after he forced six interceptions on the year while allowing just eight receptions for 50 yards on 24 targets. He took a step back in a 3-9 season for Northwestern, but will look to assert himself as one of the nation’s most dominant safeties again in 2022.
