Western Kentucky redshirt junior WR Mitchell Tinsley caught seven passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 59-38 win over Appalachian State.
Tinsley (6'/1205) may have played his last game as a Hilltopper after entering the transfer portal on December 7th, but choosing to play in a game where quarterback Bailey Zappe was gunning for FBS passing records. Tinsely had arguably the best play on the day when he and Zappe hooked up for a 75-yard touchdown pass that featured Tinsley breaking away from several tacklers on his way to the end zone. Tinsley’s second touchdown catch on the afternoon came on a two-yard pass from Zappe, that ended up setting the record for most touchdown passes (61) in single-season FBS history, as he brings his 2021 season to a close on a strong note. Tinsley’s first and perhaps only season with Western Kentucky ends with 87 receptions for 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns.

ESPN’s Jordan Reid reports Michigan CB Will Johnson will not participate in the team’s Pro Day because of a minor hamstring injury.
Reid notes that he is expected to be fully healthy soon and will hold a private workout for teams two weeks before the draft. Johnson also skipped the NFL Combine aside from the interviews. A possible top-10 pick, Johnson missed time in his final season at Ann Arbor because of a turf toe injury. A hamstring issue after ducking the combine isn’t great for his draft stock, but the private workout will give him one final shot at impressing scouts.

Cardinals re-signed LS Aaron Brewer to a one-year contract.
The team also announced the re-signing of safety and special teamer Joey Blount. He got a two-year deal from the Cardinals. Brewer has been with the Cardinals for a decade after spending four years in Denver.

    Titans released LB Harold Landry.
The move will create just shy of $11 million in cap space for Tennessee while leaving them with a $13.1 million dead cap charge. The Titans tried to find a trade partner for Landry but couldn’t land any takers because of his contract. The veteran defender had two seasons left on the five-year, $87.5 million contract he signed ahead of the 2022 season. Landry tore his ACL in 2022 but returned to form the following year, logging 10.5 sacks. His sack total took a slight hit last year, falling to nine. Landry will turn 29 years old before the upcoming season but is still an above-average starter at his position. Expect him to have plenty of suitors on the open market.

Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports Vikings CB Byron Murphy “is poised to hit the open market when the legal tampering period begins.”
According to Schultz, the Vikings would like to re-sign Murphy, but the 2024 Pro Bowler is expected to test his value in free agency when the legal tampering period opens. Murphy totaled nine interceptions in his two seasons with the Vikings while racking up 138 tackles and another 27 pass breakups. At just 27 years old, he’s expected to have a strong market after last year’s breakout. His PFF coverage grade of 72.6 ranked 23rd among 117 corners (min. 300 snaps).
  • PHI Tight End #88
Speaking on his unCovering the Birds podcast, Eagles writer Jeff McLane said Dallas Goedert is “by no means a slam dunk to return to Philly for an eighth season.”
This belief stems from an unnamed source who said as much to McLane, after McLane looked to confirm similar comments from an anonymous agent. Goedert is in the final year of his deal and is set to be a free agent heading into 2026. Any decision to release Goedert, however, would be an odd one, as the only cap savings, as far as 2025 is concerned, would come with a post-June 1 cut that could net them $4.054 million in savings but also carries a dead cap hit over $7.7 million. Goedert has struggled to stay healthy in recent years, but is among the top tight ends in the league when healthy. With few good options available via trade or free agency, the Eagles could be better off letting Goedert play out the final year of his deal if they can afford it.

Seahawks GM John Schneider did not rule out the possibility of re-signing Tyler Lockett.
When asked about the possibility of a reunion, Schneider said he told Lockett to “go out and see what’s shaking (on the market), and we’ll stay in touch.” Lockett, 32, is coming off his least productive season since 2017 and hasn’t surpassed 1,000 yards since 2022. While he can still help a team, there’s no doubt the 10-year vet is on the downturn of his career. Any team that pursues him will likely do so with a fringe WR2/WR3 role in mind, which may not lead to a level of production that looks too different from last season. A reunion with the Seahawks may prove to be the best thing for Lockett, but he’ll have a chance in the coming days to test his value on the market to see how teams view him.
  • FA Guard #69
    Texans released OG Shaq Mason.
Aaron Wilson reports the Texans are releasing Mason normally, which is notable because they could have designated him as a post-June 1 cut and freed up $9.4 million in cap space this season. They will instead save only $2.1 million. Mason started all 32 games he appeared in for the Texans over the last two seasons and earned a 62.3 PFF blocking grade. Far from the player he was during his days in New England, Mason will hunt for a stopgap starting role in free agency.
  • FA Defensive Tackle #98
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports free agent DT Roy Robertson-Harris is visiting with the Cardinals.
Just days after being released by the Seahawks, Robertson-Harris will now meet with the Cardinals, who are hoping to improve a defensive line that finished bottom six in pressure rate in 2024. Robertson-Harris split time between the Jaguars and Seahawks last season, earning a PFF defensive grade of 52.8 while totaling 16 pressures and two sacks. He saw his snaps dwindle as his time with the Seahawks went on, as his 398 defensive snaps wound up being his fewest since 2020.
  • FA Defensive Tackle #93
    Commanders released DT Jonathan Allen.
After trying and failing to trade the two-time Pro Bowler, the Commanders will now release Allen in a move that will save them nearly $16.5 million against the cap this season. Allen, 30, suffered a partially torn pectoral muscle last season and was limited to eight regular season games as a result. He returned in time for the postseason, where he totaled 10 pressures and eight quarterback hurries in three games, per PFF, and should generate plenty of interest as teams look to upgrade their defensive fronts.
  • HOU Linebacker #0
Texans restructured LB Azeez Al-Shaair’s contract.
The restructuring of Al-Shaair freed up $6.26 million in cap space for the upcoming season. Al-Shaair is perhaps most known for his illegal hit on Trevor Lawrence that saw the league levy a three-game suspension against him. Al-Shaair joined the Texans on a three-year, $34 million deal and is under contract through 2026. Last season he totaled 70 tackles and two sacks in 11 games while earning a PFF defensive grade of 68.9.
