  • FA Guard #64
Raiders LG Richie Incognito (calf) was sidelined for Wednesday’s practice.
It’s a glaring concern since the Raiders just lost Denzelle Good for the year with a torn ACL. If Cognito can’t go, Las Vegas will have four new starters on its offensive line (against the Steelers, nonetheless) compared to Week 2 last year.

  • TB Guard #76
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Bucs OG Sua Opeta suffered a torn ACL in training camp.
Opeta signed a one-year deal with the Bucs in the offseason and was competing for a starting job at left guard. He made starts at both left and right guard for the Eagles in 2023. Opeta came into the league as a UDFA and carved out a role as a versatile backup for Philly. He will now miss the entirety of the 2024 season.
  • WAS Kicker #38
Commanders claimed K Riley Patterson off waivers from the Jaguars.
The team also signed wide receiver Byron Pringle. Washington released fellow receivers Dax Milne and Damiere Byrd in a pair of corresponding moves. Patterson kicked for the Browns and Lions last year, connecting on 16-of-18 field goal tries and 41-of-44 extra point attempts. He signed with the Jaguars in the offseason but was waived earlier this week. Patterson will compete with Ramiz Ahmed for the kicking job in Washington during training camp.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #83
Dolphins signed WR Willie Snead, formerly of the 49ers.
Snead’s career has fizzled out since he posted 1,879 yards in his first two seasons with the Saints, but he is still hanging around the league as a reserve option at receiver and a special teams contributor. He spent the past two years in San Francisco, appearing in four games for both seasons. With Odell Beckham on the PUP list, Snead gives the team an extra body at receiver for the start of training camp.
  • NYG Defensive Back #31
Giants claimed CB Mario Goodrich off waivers from the Eagles.
Goodrich signed with the Eagles after going undrafted in 2022. He spent his first year in the league on Philly’s practice squad and appeared in four games last year, one of which was credited as a start. He totaled five tackles while playing a mix of special teams and slot corner. Goodrich will be fighting for a roster spot in Giants camp this summer.
  • LAR Guard #72
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Rams LG Jonah Jackson suffered a bruised scapula and is expected to miss the preseason.
Per Schefter, Jackson “has a chance to return for the start of the regular season.” He was spotted at practice with a sling around his left arm on Wednesday. The Rams signed Jackson to a three-year, $51 million contract in the offseason. Though this isn’t a disastrous outcome, it’s not the news Sean McVay wants as he looks to center his offense around an elite passing attack headlined by one of the league’s best duos in Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. As long as Jackson is back early in the season, this injury shouldn’t slow down the Rams’ offense too much.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #3
    Commanders re-signed WR Byron Pringle.
Pringle began his career with the Chiefs and has since become a journeyman, playing for three different teams in the past three years. He will return to Washington after going for 161 yards on 14 receptions with the Commanders last season. Pringle will also see plenty of work on special teams.
  • DEN Tackle #75
Broncos coach Sean Payton said OT Quinn Bailey suffered a fractured ankle during Wednesday’s practice.
Bailey went down with the injury earlier today. The medical staff put an air cast on his leg and he was taken from practice in an ambulance. Payton didn’t give a timetable for his return but this could be the end of Bailey’s season. The backup lineman was active for all 17 games last year and frequently took the field as a sixth blocker. Bailey will undergo surgery on his ankle soon.
  • NE Defensive Lineman #92
Patriots signed DT Davon Godchaux to a two-year $21 million contract extension.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth “up to” $21 million and features $16.5 million in guarantees. Godchaux signed with the Patriots as a free agent in 2021 and has appeared in all 51 regular season games and the team’s lone playoff appearance. He has been a rotational lineman who sees the majority of his reps in run defense. Godchaux totaled 56 tackles, two TFLs, and one fumble recovery in 2023.
  • GB Running Back #32
ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reports Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd (hip) participated in team drills on Wednesday.
Lloyd missed the start of training camp with a hip issue but was back for individual drills earlier this week. He took part in team drills on Wednesday for the first time this year. Head coach Matt LaFleur called him a “work in progress” before noting how valuable the reps he has missed are. The good news is that Lloyd appears to be good to go. He remains a high-upside pick in the double-digit rounds, though fantasy managers should not count on him early in the season.
  • NE Linebacker #9
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports the Patriots have made a contract offer to EDGE Matthew Judon.
Judon has been on the sidelines for the start of training camp while seeking a new contract from the Patriots. He began his career with the Ravens but exploded after signing with the Pats as a free agent. Judon totaled 12.5 sacks during his first season in New England in 2021 and upped that number to 15.5 in 2022. He then missed most of the 2023 season with a torn bicep. Judon is entering the final year of his contract and would earn a massive deal in free agency if he is available. However, things are moving in the right direction for him to stay in New England beyond this year.
