Bengals selected Georgia C Trey Hill with the No. 190 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Hill (6'4/319) is a massive player for the center position, which makes sense for someone coming from Georgia’s offense. Hill started a handful of games at right guard in 2018 before taking over at the pivot in 2019, earning himself second-team All-SEC honors (AP). Hill started again in 2020, though he did miss the final few games in order to undergo surgery for “minor” injuries to both his knees. As is the case with most Bulldogs OL, Hill plays with some power, both in his explosion off the line of scrimmage and at the point of contact. He does well to dig bodies out of their intended gaps, especially when working down the line on gap concepts. Hill has precious few athletic gifts (2.02 RAS) to speak of, though, which will surely hurt him more at the second level and in pass pro in the NFL. Hill is reminiscent of a lesser Travis Swanson.
