Saints selected Stanford CB Paulson Adebo with the No. 76 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Adebo (6'1/192) is the definition of a ballhawk. In two seasons as a starter, Adebo recorded a whopping 27 passes defended, in addition to eight interceptions. No matter the coverage assignment, Adebo has a knack for getting his hand on passes once they enter his vicinity. To no surprise, Adebo netted first-team All Pac-12 in both seasons, making him one of the more decorated DBs in this class. Adebo did choose to opt out of the 2020 season, however, so he missed out on potentially putting up three seasons of outrageous production. On film, Adebo is not a true burner, but he has smooth enough hips and has nice click-and-close ability when working back to the ball. If Adebo can prove he has the muscle to contend with NFL WRs, he is set to fit in any number of schemes. Adebo is also an energetic, willing tackler. Adebo shows some shades of a discount version of Atlanta Falcons CB A.J. Terrell.
