Patriots are pushing for a quick resolution to their head coaching search, according to Dianna Russini of the Athletic.
Russini notes that Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson interviewed well with New England, but that the Lions play caller still plans to meet with other teams. At the same time, the Patriots are pushing to complete their search for a coach in a timely fashion, meaning they aren’t likely to wait for Johnson’s playoff run with the Lions to conclude before making a decision. Many around the league expect a decision this weekend, according to Russini. All signs point to Vrabel, the former Patriots linebacker, to be the choice.
