Oklahoma State redshirt senior LB Amen Ogbongbemiga tested positive for COVID-19.
Ogbongbemiga (6'1/231) divulged his positive test to social media, noting that he had taken part in a protest in Tulsa after previously observing the preventive measures suggested by health officials. Wrote the redshirt senior linebacker, “If you are going to protest, take care of yourself and stay safe.” Ogbongbemiga was one of 30 players to return to campus this week as the Cowboys look to get things started with voluntary workouts and the like. ESPN’s Sam Kahn Jr. reports that all 30 of those players, as well as coaches and staff, were tested for the novel coronavirus. Khan reports that Ogbongbemiga will be retested on Friday, as well as at a later time, and will be quarantined in “separate on-campus housing.” Last season, Ogbongbemiga earned second-team All-Big 12 recognition.

Commanders re-signed TE Zach Ertz to a one-year, $6.25 million contract.
Another $2.75 million is available through incentives. It’s a great outcome for 34-year-old Ertz after he rebounded from an injury-wrecked 2023 to post his most yards since 2021 last season. He was functionally sensational rookie Jayden Daniels’ No. 2 weapon. That, of course, is something Washington doesn’t want to repeat, and Ertz is now a clear third behind Terry McLaurin and trade acquisition Deebo Samuel. Already essentially a catch-and-fall specialist, Ertz will probably have trouble repeating last year’s low-end TE1 production in fantasy, but he will undoubtedly remain a solid matchup-based play. The Commanders might not be done adding in their skill corps, which was scarily low on weapons by the end of last season.
  • KC Wide Receiver #1
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports authorities have opted not to pursue domestic violence charges against Xavier Worthy following his Friday evening arrest.
“After further investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and further discussion with a third-party witness, Mr. Worthy and his attorneys, this case is being declined at this time pending completion of the investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office,” the DA’s office said in a statement. It’s unclear what exactly happened here, as the DA also said “we will continue to evaluate the case.” It nevertheless appears Worthy could end up in the clear legally. The wideout steadfastly maintained his innocence in a statement earlier Saturday. Stay tuned.
  • CAR Tight End #82
Panthers re-signed TE Tommy Tremble to a two-year contract.
Tremble currently sits atop the tight end depth chart in Carolina but we saw the team deploy multiple personnel in rotation a season ago, something that could transpire again in the coming season considering the continuity of coaching. Tremble has yet to clear a modest 35 targets in a any of his four years in the league.
  • NYG Tight End #85
Giants re-signed TE Chris Manhertz to a one-year contract.
The blocking tight end’s signing is good news for the fantasy expectations of second-year tight end Theo Johnson considering the only other pass-catching tight end on the roster is Daniel Bellinger. Manhertz brings little fantasy value in his own right.
  • NO Quarterback #4
Saints restructured QB Derek Carr’s contract, keeping him in New Orleans.
Carr will make $40 million in 2025 and remain with the team likely through the 2026 season, per his current contract. The team had a potential out this offseason but it would have incurred a massive $50 million cap hit. Instead, Carr returns to the Saints on a restructured deal to help the organization prepare for the upcoming free agency window.
  • BAL Tackle #79
Ravens re-signed OT Ronnie Stanley to a three-year, $60 million contract.
One of the game’s top tackles is now being paid as such, with the $20 million average annual value placing him in the top 10 at the position. Baltimore entered the offseason confident they could re-sign their stud tackle, making good on the promise made earlier this year. Even so, Stanley played a full schedule for the first time in his career in 2024. The deal includes a massive $44 million in guaranteed money over the next three seasons.
  • CAR Center #63
    Panthers re-signed C Austin Corbett to a one-year contract.
That now gives the Panthers five returning starters along an offensive line that was widely regarded as the strength of their offense a season ago. The terms of the contract were not yet made available. The longtime starter missed most of the 2024 season after suffering a torn bicep in Week 5.
  • FA Kicker (FG) #18
    Ty Long announced his retirement.
Long appeared in 49 professional contests with the Chargers between 2019 and 2021, mostly serving as the team’s punter. He converted seven of nine field goals and all nine extra point attempts while filling in for injuries during the 2019 season.
  • NYG Punter #6
    Giants re-signed P Jamie Gillan to a three-year, $10.2 million contract.
The international superstar punter now stands as the NFL’s seventh-highest paid punter, re-signing with the Giants prior to hitting free agency next week. The six-year veteran is now under team control through the 2027 season.
  • MIA Cornerback #4
Dolphins placed the right-of-first-refusal tender on CB Kader Kohou.
Kohou currently stands as a restricted free agent after finishing the final year on his rookie contract. The Dolphins will now have the ability to match any offer he receives once free agency opens next week.
