Dolphins signed fifth-round DE Curtis Weaver and fifth-round DL Jason Strowbridge to four-year contracts.
Weaver’s production as a three-year starter at Boise State was inflated due to the below-average blocking he faced in the Mountain West, but his 34 career sacks impressively ranked as the second most in school history, eclipsing Jerry Hughes’ total for the all-time conference record. A first-team All-American after compiling 13.5 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss in 2019, Weaver primarily stood up off the edge and was a patient, crafty pass rusher. He profiles as a low-end starter or depth option for the ‘Fins, though at age 21, he does have room to grow.

  • TB Wide Receiver #13

Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles said he doesn’t expect Mike Evans (hamstring) to return before the team’s Week 11 bye.
Confirming earlier reporting, Evans has a serious hamstring injury. It’s still possible that he’s placed on injured reserve, but the Buccaneers are playing it cagey with the idea that he could return for Week 12’s game against the Giants. Evans had a 26/335/6 receiving line in seven starts so far this season. He bequeaths Baker Mayfield, who is playing the best ball of his career, to Jalen McMillan, Sterling Shepard, and Cade Otton. “We’re not going to ask them to be Mike and Chris,” Bowles added. Well, duh.
  • PIT Defensive Lineman #57
Steelers placed DL Montravius Adams (knee) on injured reserve.
He left Week 7’s game against the Jets with the knee injury and did not return. Adams had played in all seven Steelers games this year, notching one sack and five solo tackles in the interior. He’ll miss at least the next four games.
  • BAL Cornerback #10
Ravens activated CB Arthur Maulet from injured reserve.
Maulet has played between 348 and 481 defensive snaps for each of the last five seasons with the Jets, Steelers, and Ravens. He’ll be a nice depth piece for Baltimore’s secondary, and perhaps elevate into an even bigger role if Marlon Humphrey’s MNF knee injury is serious.
  • FA Defensive End #52
    Commanders released DE Jamin Davis.
A linebacker for his first three seasons, the Commanders new regime threw him at EDGE and gave him 86 snaps in five games. Davis did not record a sack. He also was cited twice for reckless driving. Still just 25, Davis is a potential reclamation project.
  • WAS Cornerback #38
NFL suspended Commanders CB Kevon Seymour six games for violating the NFL’s Performance-Enhancing Substances Policy.
He’ll be eligible for reinstatement ahead of Washington’s Week 13 game against the Titans. Seymour has not played a defensive snap this year and is mostly a special teamer, with 155 special teams snaps with the Ravens last year and 17 with the Commanders in 2024.
  • TB Wide Receiver #13
Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud expects Mike Evans to miss “at least” the next three games.
The Bucs reportedly aren’t planning to put Evans on injured reserve if there’s a chance he can return for Week 12’s game against the Giants. It sure sounds like Evans will be down for at least a month, including Tampa’s Week 11 bye. Jalen McMillan and Sterling Shepard will get target boosts without Evans and Chris Godwin. Cade Otton is also in line for major work.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #17
Rams designated Puka Nacua (knee) to return from injured reserve.
That will open up his 21-day window to return. Jay Glazer’s recent timeline for Nacua’s return looked to be heading towards early November, so it is possible he’s ready for Week 9. Week 10 might be a more realistic goal. It is unlikely he’ll turn it around in time to play on Thursday night against the Vikings.
  • NE Linebacker #55
The Athletic’s Chad Graff writes Joshua Uche and Jonathan Jones could “likely be had for a Day 3 draft pick.”
Uche, 26, has just five sacks since what looked to be a breakout 2023 season where he had 11.5. He’s played just 35 percent of the snaps for New England this year. Jones, 31, would likely be more coveted by a team trying to patch up their secondary. Jones has started 37 games for the Patriots in the last three years.
  • ARI Linebacker #45
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Cardinals LB Dennis Gardeck tore his ACL in Week 7’s win over the Chargers.
Gardeck had six sacks last year and three in three games this year. It’s his second torn ACL. Gardeck is set to be a free agent after the season and will likely have to settle for one-year offers.
  • PIT Wide Receiver #10
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Roman Wilson “needs to work for me to really consider him.”
Wilson has been active in just one game this season, and he had just five offensive snaps against the Chargers. If you’re counting on a turnaround for Wilson to seize what looks to be an in-reach job in the Pittsburgh three-wide set, it looks like you’re going to have to keep counting.
