NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein compared Ohio State CB Jeffrey Okudah to Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson.
Well, that’s some pretty high praise, and the plaudits don’t end there. “Head coach and general manager’s dream prospect with blue-chip physical traits, mental makeup and personal character,” Zierlein writes. The analyst also notes that the 6-foot-1, 205-pound corner has “size, length and foot quickness to road-block press release and elite closing burst.” Zierlein does list some weaknesses, noting that he can be better in anticipating routes, and that he needs to do a better job of disengaging from blocks. “He has a rigid adherence to technique,” Zierlein writes in his overview, “but squeezing coverage even tighter and trusting his traits, talent and recovery speed could make him one of the top shutdown corners in the game.”
