NFL Media draft analyst Lance Zierlein wrote that Alabama DT Raekwon Davis is an “elite two-gapper who sets a strong edge” in his analysis of the Crimson Tide standout.
Davis (6'7/312) does have some concerns to address during the pre-draft process, as Zierlein also wrote that some scouts have concerns regarding his maturity. And after wreaking havoc during his first season in Tuscaloosa, he wasn’t as productive from a statistical standpoint. But the physical tools are there, with Zierlein projecting Davis to be a Day 1 selection come April. “Despite possessing unique traits and the potential to dominate, his upside could be a moving target based upon maturity level and continued growth as a rusher,” Zierlein wrote. Other draft analysts have projected Davis to be a Day 2 selection, and if that turns out to be the case he won’t be on the board very long.
