247Sports’ Chip Brown was told by one source in the Texas program that redshirt freshman DT Keondre Coburn “has what they play with in the NFL [in terms of explosiveness].”
“He has a chance to play on the other side of the line of scrimmage,” Brown’s insider said. “And when you can get that from your one technique, your defense has a chance to be really disruptive.” This is a refrain which Brown has heard from multiple sources in Austin. The 6-foot-3, 334-pound defensive tackle dealt with a kidney issue over the spring, but assuming his health for the fall, he is a probable starter for the Longhorns upcoming. This past season, Coburn appeared in three games (ultimately taking a redshirt) after signing on with Texas as a four-star recruit in the 2018 class.
