Jonathan Stewart retired after 11 seasons in the NFL.
Stewart signed a one-day contract to retire with the Panthers, the team which made him the 13th overall pick back in 2008 and was his home for 10 of 11 seasons. Early in his career, Stewart formed a dynamic partnership with DeAngelo Williams, and the pair helped carry the team to a 12-4 record in 2008. Stewart struggled with injuries throughout most of his career, but he was able to appear in at least 13 games each of his final four seasons in Carolina, averaging almost 925 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns over that span. Stewart finishes his career with the most rushing yards in Panthers history.
  • SEA Running Back #25

Seahawks RB Kenny McIntosh (knee) was carted off the field in practice Saturday.
Fellow running backs Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet were seen talking to the third-year running back as he was helped onto the cart during a camp practice Saturday, with initial testing revealing a potentially torn ACL. McIntosh was set to enter the 2025 regular season third on the team’s depth chart, also a regular contributor on special teams. There is the potential for the team to explore free agent help at the position considering the general lack of depth behind Walker and Charbonnet following McIntosh’s injury.
Williams expanding route tree under new Lions OC
Jameson Williams has impressed new Detroit Lions offensive coordinator John Morton during training camp, and Kyle Dvorchak weighs in on the fantasy outlook for the fourth-year wide receiver in 2025.
  • LAR Quarterback #9
Rams HC Sean McVay said QB Matthew Stafford (back) will not practice next week.
McVay stated that the team is not expecting Stafford to miss more than the first portion of camp, indicating they believe he will be back on the practice field in short order. “I don’t have any reason to be concerned,” McVay added later in the press conference with media following practice Saturday. Stafford has been sidelined at the beginning of camp with back soreness, something that doesn’t seem to be overly serious for the 37-year-old quarterback even though his initial timeline for return to team activities has now been prolonged.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #16
Titans WR Treylon Burks (collarbone) injured Saturday in camp.
Burks came down awkwardly following a reception in camp Saturday, with initial testing indicating a broken collarbone. The injury is highly likely to sideline him for the start of the regular season. The Titans brought in a slew of pass-catching help this offseason, including wide receiver Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson, both of whom were projected to start over the former first-round receiver come September. This injury could be the proverbial nail in the coffin for the once-promising prospect following a torn ACL suffered in Week 5 of the 2024 season.
  • MIN Safety #44
Vikings signed S Joshua Metellus to a three-year, $36 million extension.
The deal keeps Metellus attached to the Vikings through the 2028 season. Metellus, a former No. 205 overall pick, was initially waived by the Vikings before being brought back on a team-friendly contract, only to earn a pay jump and more security through his play on the field. He heads into the 2025 season a seasoned starter for Brian Flores’ defense.
  • HOU Running Back #28
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) will miss multiple weeks of training camp.
Schultz adds that the goal is for Mixon to be ready for Week 1, but missing most, if not all, of camp and preseason is not ideal for Mixon. Mixon’s timeline has continued to be pushed back after initial reports stated he would be ready for camp, with follow-on reports stating he would “be ready at some point during training camp.” The fact that the injury is worse than was initially reported should raise some red flags for fantasy managers as we enter primetime draft season. Nick Chubb would presumably be the next man up in the Houston backfield should Mixon’s absence carry over into the regular season.
  • MIA Cornerback #21
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports Mike Hilton is signing with the Dolphins.
The deal is for one year, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Hilton spent the first four years of his career with the Steelers and the last four with the Bengals. The 31-year-old safety started 23 games for the Bengals over the last two years. Hilton can also play nickel cornerback and could be used there with the Dolphins.
  • BUF Wide Receiver #5
The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia writes Josh Palmer has been a “staple on offense” and is sneaky candidate to lead Bills receivers in snaps.
Palmer along with Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman have been the top three receivers in Bills camp. While Palmer has the lowest ADP of the group, he’s been getting the most hype so far in training. Josh Allen has praised the 25-year-old receiver’s catch radius, calling it the best he’s been around. Palmer failed to breakout with the Chargers, but could be in line for his best season yet with the Bills.
  • Jared Goff described Aidan Hutchinson’s offseason as “Monster.”
Hutchinson has been “flying,” according to the Lions’ veteran quarterback. The 24-year-old EDGE defender beat Penei Sewell for a sack with his patented spin move in a viral practice clip sent out by the team Friday, seemingly confirming Goff’s assessment. Hutchinson looks ready to start the season, the only question will be if he and the Lions agree on a massive new contract before the offseason is over.
  • DET Linebacker #34
Alex Anzalone (hamstring) practiced for the first time in training camp on Saturday.
Anzalone sat out early offseason workouts and OTAs as he made it clear that he wants a new contract. The 30-year-old linebacker reported to training camp on time, but missed the first few days of practice after suffering a hamstring injury during his conditioning test. One day after Dan Campbell told reporters there’s no animosity between Anzalone and the front office and that both sides are still talking, Anzalone returned to the practice field. It remains to be seen if they’ve made any progress on a new contract, though.
  • CHI Wide Receiver
Ben Johnson told reporters he’s hopeful Luther Burden will practice soon.
Burden continues to miss time with a hamstring injury. After missing offseason workouts with a soft tissue injury, Johnson seemed confident Burden would be ready for the start of training camp. While Burden reportedly suffered an undisclosed injury from landing on a football, it’s a hamstring that is keeping him off the practice field. Johnson, who previously described Burden as day-to-day, is hopeful that he’s available soon. On a Bears offense that’s suddenly loaded with playmakers, it would behoove the rookie Burden to be available sooner rather than later if he’s going to have a role early in the season.
