The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin writes ex-Arkansas coach Bret Bielema “has been telling people that he is going to become the Patriots’ defensive coordinator.”
There were reports Bielema, who has served as a consultant with the Patriots this season, would join current Patriots de-facto DC Brian Flores’ staff in Miami. There have also been reports former Ohio State DC Greg Schiano, who left the program earlier this month, would take over coordinator responsibilities with the Patriots, but Volin notes it would be out of character for New England to immediately put an outside hire in that prominent a position. It is possible both Bielema and Schiano have a role on New England’s staff next season.

Patriots DT Khyiris Tonga (foot) won’t play in New England’s Wild Card game against the Chargers.
Eyeing Rams, Eagles in Super Bowl outright market
Jay Croucher and Drew Dinsick dive into the outright market for Super Bowl Champion, discussing the Rams' experience and Eagles' upside at price.
  • BUF Offensive Coordinator
Ravens requested to interview Bills OC Joe Brady for their head-coaching vacancy.
It sure doesn’t feel like Brady has had his best season as Bills fans have watched the team struggle to put together any kind of passing attack beyond Josh Allen Hero Ball, but he apparently remains top of mind for Baltimore. To his credit, the Bills did generate top-of-league rushing yardage for James Cook this year. As a fantasy football website, we’d love to see that kind of commitment to Derrick Henry.
  • BAL Offensive Coordinator
Ravens OC Todd Monken said “it was a great three-year run” and “I wish them nothing but the best” when asked about his time in Baltimore.
Not that this is unexpected news, but Monken does appear to be very publicly saying that he won’t return to his post as Ravens OC after the firing of John Harbaugh. Monken has a history of coordinating good NFL offenses and would be an interesting pickup for a number of teams in need of a good play caller on that side of the ball.
  • TB Guard #68
Buccaneers G Ben Bredeson (knee) is expected to be fully recovered for the team’s offseason program.
The guard, entering his age-28 season in 2026, was placed on season-ending IR in early December. This is good news for the Bucs as they try to retool from their end-of-season disaster, as Bredeson is a bit of a stalwart for them on the interior line.
  • SEA Offensive Coordinator
Ravens completed an interview with Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak for their head-coaching vacancy.
We had Kubiak down with interviews requests from the Falcons, Giants, Cardinals, and Raiders before today. He scores one with Baltimore on the heels of turning his Sam Darnold-led offense into a top-10 DVOA offense this past season. It would not seem that Kubiak’s system would be the best use of Lamar Jackson’s ability to scramble and buy time to make plays, but the Shanaclan has roots everywhere and it wouldn’t necessarily limit Jackson from a fantasy perspective if Kubiak was the play here.
  • LA Defensive Coordinator
Titans requested an interview with Rams DC Chris Shula for their head-coaching vacancy.
Shula led the Rams defense to a top-5 defensive DVOA rating despite being the lowest-paid defense in the NFL. It was always inevitable he’d emerge as an interview candidate this cycle. The Titans figure to be the first of many teams talking to Shula despite his team currently being in the playoffs. The Rams head to Charlotte for their Wild Card round game on Saturday.
  • LAC Defensive Coordinator
Titans requested an interview with Chargers DC Jesse Minter for their head-coaching vacancy.
Minter has had a pair of top-10 DVOA defense finishes as Chargers defensive coordinator. He’s already been leaked as a favorite for the Ravens job by The Baltimore Sun, but if he chooses to expand his dance card, the Titans apparently are devoted to conducting one of the most expansive first interview cycles in recent memory.
  • LAC Defensive Coordinator
Browns requested an interview with Chargers DC Jesse Minter for their head-coaching vacancy.
Minter’s Chargers finished 10th in defensive DVOA in 2025 and and ninth in 2024. It’s hard to believe that the Browns would prefer him to an offensive mind when Jim Schwartz is literally in the building, but it’s not completely implausible. Minter is starting to pick up interview requests ahead of this Sunday night’s game against the Patriots on NBC.
  • BUF Wide Receiver #5
Joshua Palmer (ankle) is questionable for the Wild Card Game against the Jaguars.
Palmer was injured in the Bills’ regular season finale against the Jets. Bills head coach Sean McDermott told WGR 550 that the 26-year-old wide receiver wouldn’t practice again Friday. That doesn’t bode well for his availability against the Jaguars on Sunday. This is nothing new for the Bills as Palmer missed five games during the regular season, which led to career-lows in catches (22), yards (303) and touchdowns (zero). The Bills can continue to lean on Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, Dawson Knox and Brandon Cooks as receiving options.
  • MIA General Manager
Dolphins hired Jon-Eric Sullivan as general manager.
One day after firing head coach Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins made another major move in adding Sullivan as the general manager. The Packers’ VP of player personnel since 2022, Sullivan joined Green Bay as an intern in 2003 and worked his way up through various positions, which include a scouting background. Sullivan has stated in interviews how important it is to build through the draft, an approach that likely makes the most sense for this Dolphins rebuild. He is the son of Jerry Sullivan, who spent 25 years as an NFL coach, mostly coaching wide receivers.
