  • FA Defensive Back #30
Cardinals signed CBs Quinten Rollins and Dontae Johnson.
The Cardinals are taking some veteran fliers after waiving Bene Benwikere on Monday. Rollins made 10 starts for the Packers in 2016 but has made only six appearances since. Neither Rollins nor Johnson will be a viable solution opposite Patrick Peterson.
  • FA Tight End #82
Patriots worked out TE Irv Smith Jr.
Smith Jr. was released by the Chiefs before the start of the season. The 26-year-old has dealt with injuries and hasn’t been particularly effective even when on the field, and he’d be nothing more than organizational depth for whatever team signs him.
  • MIN Wide Receiver #3
Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell told reporters that Jordan Addison has “pretty significant soreness” in his right ankle.
Addison left Sunday’s Week 1 win over the Giants with an ankle injury in the third quarter. O’Connell said that the team will be “smart” with Addison, but noted that he did heal quickly from the ankle issue he had over the summer. Addison hasn’t been rule out for Week 2 against the 49ers, but it would be surprising if the second-year wideout played in that contest.
  • JAX Defensive Back #32
Jaguars HC Doug Pedersen told reporters Monday that Tyson Campbell “will miss some time” with his hamstring injury.
Campbell was signed to a $76.5 million extension this summer, but the 24-year-old will not be available in the Jaguars secondary for the next few weeks, at the least. The good news for the Jaguars is that they will face a Browns passing game that looked anemic during their loss to the Cowboys, but now they’ll be counting on lesser-known entities like Montaric Brown and Jarrian Jones instead of Campbell.
  • Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles told reporters that Antoine Winfield Jr. is in a walking boot Monday after suffering an injury during Week 1 against the Commanders.
Winfield Jr. — the highest paid safety in the game — picked up the injury on one of the final plays. Bowles said the 26-year-old safety was “pretty sore” after the game. His status for Week 2 is currently up in the air, and it’s worth pointing out that Tampa Bay suffered several injuries to their defensive backfield against Washington. That could spell trouble against the Lions’ passing attack.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
Lamar Jackson was not spotted at practice Monday.
There’s a wide variety of reasons Jackson could have not been at practice, but obviously it’s at least a little concerning that the MVP wasn’t at the session. He completed 26-of-41 passes for 273 yard and rushed 16 times for 122 yards in the opener, so this could just be maintenance for Jackson. There should be an update soon. Stay tuned.
  • SEA Running Back #9
Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald told reporters Monday that there was no injury update on Kenneth Walker III (abdomen).
Walker III ran for 103 yards on 20 attempts with a touchdown in the win over Denver, but he had to leave the final minutes of the game with what was described as a “muscle injury.” The running back was able to participate in the postgame interview, however, and told reporters that he was “good.” It’s obviously a situation to monitor, but all signs point to Walker III being available against the Patriots in Week 2.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #86
Darius Slayton is in the concussion protocol.
Slayton will need to clear that protocol in order to be eligible to play against the Commanders in Week 2. The 27-year-old was held to three catches for 26 yards in the blowout loss. If Slayton can’t go, it would lead to added snaps/targets for Jalin Hyatt and potentially Bryce-Ford Wheaton.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #15
Rome Odunze will undergo an MRI on his knee Monday.
Odunze was held to just one catch in his NFL debut on four targets, but he played on 77 percent of the snaps during Sunday’s game. Adam Teicher of the Chicago Tribune passes down that the injury is believed to have been suffered on a blocking attempt. Obviously fantasy managers will want to play close attention to the results of the imaging, and his status gong forward will largely be determined by those results.
  • KC Wide Receiver #5
Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters Monday that Hollywood Brown (shoulder) is “getting close” to a return.
“I know he’s feeling better,” Reid said. Brown hurt himself in the preseason opener, and wasn’t able to return to the field for the Week 1 victory over the Ravens. The Chiefs will likely be cautious with the 27-year-old, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he isn’t able to roll against the Bengals for Week 2.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #13
Giants HC Brian Daboll told reporters Monday that Jalin Hyatt didn’t play much in Week 1 against the Vikings because “he’s the third/fourth wide receiver”
Dan Duggan noted that Hyatt left the stadium with his eye black still on, so clearly he was in a hurry to get out of there. Can’t really blame him, can you? Hyatt didn’t receive a target during Sunday’s blowout loss, and received a snap count of only 16 — or 23 percent of the offensive plays. There was some hope that Hyatt could be a breakout option in his second season, but that breakout isn’t going to happen soon.
