Raiders hired ex-Falcons OL coach Mike Tice for the same position.
There were reports Atlanta denied the Raiders permission to speak to Tice earlier in the week. Tice will reunite with Jack Del Rio, whom he previously served under as an assistant head coach in Jacksonville. One of the top offensive line coaches in the league, Tice is an excellent addition to Del Rio’s staff.

Eagles declared CB Darius Slay, QB Tanner McKee, S Tristin McCollum, OL Darian Kinnard, OL Trevor Keegan, and TE Dallas Goedert inactive for Week 9 against the Jaguars.
The Eagles defense will be shorthanded against Jacksonville, missing Slay — who sustained a serious groin injury in Week 8 — and McCollum. They’ll also be without Dallas Goedert, who continues to miss time with a hamstring injury. Grant Calcaterra will again function as the team’s TE1 in Week 9.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #17
Puka Nacua (knee) is active for Week 9 against the Seahawks.
Nacua aggravated his knee injury in practice on Thursday, causing a brief run on the banks from fantasy managers. He was listed as questionable after missing Friday’s practice but is good to go, though his reps may be limited. Nacua caught seven passes for 106 yards in his first game off injured reserve last week. Even with a reduced workload, he can be treated as a WR2 versus Seattle.
  • Seahawks declared RG Christian Haynes, WR DK Metcalf, CB Nehmiah Pritchett, LB Trevis Gipson, OG Sataoa Laumea, TE Noah Fant, and DE Myles Adams inactive for Week 9 against the Rams.
Both Metcalf and Fant were ruled out on Friday. The Seahawks are hopeful Metcalf will be back after their upcoming bye. Fant is expected to miss multiple weeks.
  • JAX Running Back #1
Travis Etienne (hamstring) is active for Week 9 against the Eagles.
Etienne will play through his lingering hamstring injury, likely splitting backfield duties with Tank Bigsby, who has been far more efficient in 2024. Etienne should hang on to pass-catching duties out of the Jacksonville backfield, however. He should be considered a desperation option against the Eagles.
  • NO Wide Receiver #12
Chris Olave (concussion) is “up and active” after he was taken to the hospital following his departure from Sunday’s game against the Panthers.
The update comes via Olave’s brother, Josh. That’s the good news. The awful news is that he is dealing with the fifth documented concussion of his football-playing career. The real number could be higher. As was the case with Tua Tagovailoa earlier this season, Olave could be looking at a trip to injured reserve even if this particular head injury isn’t “that bad.” Stay tuned.
  • GB Defensive Back #23
Packers CB Jaire Alexander (knee) will not play in Week 9 against the Lions.
Alexander did not practice all week but still carried a questionable tag into the weekend. Now, the veteran corner has officially been ruled out for Week 9’s game against the Lions, leaving the Packers’ short one of its star defenders. In addition to Alexander being ruled out, the Packers declared S Evan Williams, C Josh Myers, WR Malik Heath, OL Travis Glover, and DE Brenton Cox Jr., inactive.
  • DET Defensive End #93
Lions declared DE Josh Paschal, RB Sione Vaki, LB Malcolm Rodriguez, OL Giovanni Manu, OL Christian Mahogany, OL Colby Sorsdal, and DL Mekhi Wingo inactive for Week 9 against the Packers.
This will be the second-straight missed game for Rodriguez, who suffered an ankle injury in Week 7. There’s a chance he could return for Week 10 against the Texans, but the Lions will be short two key players with Rodriguez and Paschal both out. The Lions’ defense could have its work cut out for them against a mostly-healthy Packers offense.
  • ARI Cornerback #23
Cardinals declared CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (neck) inactive for Week 9 against the Bears.
Murphy-Bunting practiced in full all week but was downgraded to questionable late in the process. He may have suffered a setback with his neck injury. The Cardinals also declared DL Darius Robinson, OL Christian Jones, TE Travis Vokolek, WR Xavier Weaver and DL Naquan Jones inactive this week.
  • JAX Wide Receiver #0
Jaguars declared WR Gabe Davis, OL Javon Foster, OL Ezra Cleveland, DT Esezi Otomewo, and DT Maason Smith inactive for Week 9 against the Eagles.
Davis will miss the game after sustaining a shoulder injury in Week 8. Brian Thomas Jr (chest) will play and should see a small target bump with Davis sidelined. Parker Washington will likely work as an every-down wideout in Davis’ place against the Eagles. The loss of Cleveland and Foster could cause major protection issues for Trevor Lawrence against an aggressive Philly pass rush.
  • CLE EDGE #99
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reports “the current expectation” is that Browns EDGE Za’Darius Smith will be traded to Detroit.
Florio called his shot by adding that the trade is expected to happen tonight or tomorrow. It’s a deal that’s been rumored for weeks. Dan Campbell even hinted at the Lions making an addition at the trade deadline earlier in the week, though he didn’t get into specifics. Smith has five sacks this year, but the Browns threw in the towel when they traded Amari Cooper. Now the best they can do is pick up some draft capital by shipping off other veterans. Smith would help backfill a Detroit pass-rush that lost Aidan Hutchinson to a gruesome leg injury earlier this season.
