Chargers DT Garrett Brown has been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing substances.
Brown’s suspension won’t have an on-field impact in San Diego, as he was viewed as a camp body after signing in May. The former Minnesota Gopher has never appeared in an NFL game.

Saints beat reporter Nick Underhill reports Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury will not make a decision on his coaching future until Washington’s season ends.
Underhill adds, "(Kingsbury) won’t begin evaluating his options until they’re done playing.” Kingsbury has been most heavily linked to the Saints, a franchise now approaching desperation mode after seeing four other teams sign new head coaches and Joe Brady pull out of the running after electing to remain with the Bills in 2025. They might be forced to wait longer if the Commanders can pull off another unlikely playoff upset over the Eagles in the NFC Championship game Sunday.
  • BUF Offensive Coordinator
CBS’ Jonathan Jones reports OC Joe Brady will remain with the Bills.
Brady had been most heavily linked to the Saints head coaching job but informed the franchise that he will be returning to the Bills in 2025 as their offensive coordinator. We’ve seen the decision to bypass a head coaching job in favor of remaining with a coordinator’s current team pay dividends as recently as this season with the two coordinators from the Lions, something Brady appears to be gambling on this coaching cycle. It’s a gamble that could pay off if he did not consider the head coaching job in New Orleans to be desirable, particularly if the Bills make it past the Chiefs on Sunday and earn a spot in the Super Bowl. The decision could begin opening up traction for other head coaching candidates in this cycle for the Saints.
  • MIN Coaching Staff
Buccaneers interviewed Vikings offensive assistant Grant Udinski for their vacant offensive coordinator position.
Udinski served as the assistant quarterbacks coach for the Vikings in 2024. At just 29 years old, he represents a continued emphasis on youth amongst the offensive coaching ranks as the league continues to change. Udinski previously coached for the Panthers for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. It is Udinksi’s third interview for vacant offensive coordinator positions this hiring cycle.
  • FA Coaching Staff
Lions promoted Shaun Dion Hamilton to LB coach.
The former linebacker joined the Detroit coaching staff for the 2022 season after playing his final season in the league with the franchise a year prior. He quickly ascended the coaching ranks, most recently serving as the assistant linebackers coach before getting a promotion to linebackers coach as the team continues to fill their coaching vacancies from within. Now just 29 years old, Hamilton has the opportunity to continue his meteoric rise in the coaching ranks as he heads into the 2025 season with more responsibilities.
  • NYG Offensive Coordinator #9
Saints interviewed Giants OC Mike Kafka for their vacant head coaching position.
Kafka has served as the offensive coordinator for the Giants for each of the previous three seasons and appears to be close to securing his first head coaching job. He previously made the final round of interviews for the Seahawks and Cardinals in 2023 before staying with the Giants. Kafka is yet another young head coaching candidate in a recent wave of youth.
  • NYJ General Manager
Jets hired former Broncos assistant GM Darren Mougey as general manager.
This was thought to be the case after Mougey bagged multiple interviews with the organization. He joins a franchise in the midst of massive turnaround in addition to the uncertainties at quarterback with the aging Aaron Rodgers. Mougey worked for the Broncos for 13 seasons, most recently being promoted to assistant general manager.
  • LAC Coaching Staff
Buccaneers conducted a virtual interview with Chargers pass game coordinator Marcus Brady.
Brady has now been linked to the Buccaneers and Patriots after serving as the pass game coordinator under Greg Roman in Los Angeles. He previously served in various offensive coaching positions with the Eagles and Colts before helping quarterback Justin Herbert to a career resurgence in 2024. Herbert threw a league-low three interceptions during the regular season, of quarterbacks with eight or more starts.
  • DET Coaching Staff
Lions promoted LB coach Kelvin Sheppard to defensive coordinator.
Sheppard, a former linebacker during his eight-year playing career, has served under former defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn for the previous four seasons as the linebackers coach in Detroit. He now gets the promotion to defensive coordinator after spending just four seasons as an NFL coach. He has large shoes to fill considering the successes brought forward from Glenn, but the franchise clearly sees something in the former standout player, enough so to give him his first shot at coordinator duties.
  • WAS Defensive Lineman #94
Commanders ruled out DT Daron Payne (knee/finger) for the NFC Championship game against the Eagles.
Payne came into the weekend listed as questionable but will ultimately miss the team’s NFC Championship game against the Eagles. The Commanders have struggled mightily against the run and will now be without one of their top run defenders on the interior of their defensive line. That could spell trouble against Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts after the two ran wild in both of these teams’ previous meetings this season.
  • DEN Coaching Staff #31
Cowboys interviewed Broncos ST coach Chris Banjo for their vacant special teams coordinator position.
It’s the second interview for Banjo this week after he interviewed with the 49ers on Monday. Banjo seems to be a hot commodity after also being linked to the Jets and new head coach Aaron Glenn. It remains unclear if Sean Payton and the Broncos would promote Banjo to special teams coordinator this offseason, something that could influence Banjo’s coaching scenery heading into 2025.
