  • FA Defensive Back #34
Rams promoted S Nate Ness from the practice squad.
Ness was waived only a week ago. He was held off the stat-sheet in two games earlier this season. Although he could see a few snaps in St. Louis’ injury-ravaged secondary, most of Ness’ playing time should come on special teams.
  • NO Tight End #7
Saints HC Dennis Allen said, “He’s got fractures,” when asked about the nature of Taysom Hill’s rib injury.
  • NO Running Back #25
Saints RB Kendre Miller (hamstring) was seen practicing on Thursday.
It is too early to tell if Miller will suit up soon but he should be stashed on fantasy benches regardless. Miller broke 10 tackles on just 41 rushing attempts as a 2023 rookie and would fit in as a capable complement to Alvin Kamara, if active.
  • MIA Linebacker #56
Dolphins signed LB Tyus Bowser, formerly of the Seahawks.
With Jaelan Phillips (knee) out for the season, the Dolphins claimed Bowser off the Seahawks’ practice squad, adding him to their 53-man roster. Bowser is a seven-year veteran of the league who has tallied 19.5 sacks and 22 TFLs in his career. He’ll likely start off as a situational pass rusher for the Dolphins, and could be active as early as Week 5.
  • NO Tight End #7
Taysom Hill (ribs) was not seen at Thursday’s practice.
Hill has an extra day to recover with the Saints facing the Chiefs on Monday night. The volatile do-it-all tight end offers as high a ceiling as any, though suffering two chest injuries in the season’s first four weeks may reduce his workload, if active.
  • BUF Tackle #73
Bills LT Dion Dawkins (hamstring) returned to practice on Thursday.
Dawkins was a DNP to start the week, but returned on Thursday and told Bills beat writer Katherine Fitzgerald that he was able to get through all of the team’s practice reps. Barring any setbacks, it sounds like Dawkins should be good to go for Sunday against the Texans.
  • CAR Wide Receiver #5
Diontae Johnson (ankle) returned to practice Thursday.
Despite missing Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury, Panthers head coach Dave Canales said he “absolutely” expects Johnson to play in Week 5 against the Bears. In two games with Andy Dalton, Johnson has seen a whopping 27 targets while posting a 15-205-2 line through the air. This ankle injury appears to be a minor one. Assuming he’s active, Johnson will be a high-upside WR2 against the Bears.
  • CAR Running Back #6
Miles Sanders (illness) did not practice Thursday.
Sanders was added to the injury report with an illness but did practice on Wednesday. Players tend to get past these things in short order, so we’d expect to see Sanders out there in his normal backup role unless the team states otherwise.
  • LV Guard #66
RG Dylan Parham (Achilles) was not seen practicing on Thursday.
Raiders RT Thayer Munford Jr. (knee/ankle) was also absent during the portion of practice open to the media. The news bodes poorly for the unit’s chances of fending off the Broncos’ blitz-happy pass rush in Week 5.
  • CLE Tackle #78
Jack Conklin (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday.
This marks Conklin’s first practice in nearly two weeks. The veteran tackle last practiced ahead of the Browns’ Week 3 matchup against the Giants but has yet to suit up for a game. We’ll see if he’s able to play in Week 5 against the Commanders, but things remain very wait-and-see with him as of right now. In addition to Conklin, Jedrick Wills (knee), Ethan Pocic (ankle), and Myles Garrett (Achilles) also returned to practice, although Garrett will probably see light practices weeks going forward given the nature of his injuries.
  • LV Running Back #3
Zamir White (groin) was not seen practicing on Thursday.
Today’s absence coupled with yesterday’s Limited Participant listing suggests White may have suffered the injury during Wednesday’s practice. This all comes after Antonio Pierce told reporters on Monday that he is going to increase Alexander Mattison’s weekly workload. It appears as though White will struggle to return RB2/3 value even if active this week.
