  • FA Defensive Back #31

    Jaguars signed CB Ashton Youboty.
Youboty will add depth with Rashean Mathis out for the season. Though he’s been out of the league since August, Youboty has a history with DC Mel Tucker, playing under him at Ohio State.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #89

Jalen Reagor caught his only target for 41 yards and committed a fumble in the Chargers’ Week 7 loss to the Cardinals.
Reagor snuck free behind the Arizona defense in the first quarter for a 41-yard gain down the left hash but was chased down from behind and lost a fumble at the Arizona three yard line. That play would set the tone of the game for both teams, with the Cardinals holding the Chargers out of the end zone and forcing five field goals. Reagor remains a fantasy long shot moving forward.
  • TB Running Back #1
Rachaad White rushed 10 times for 40 yards in Tampa’s Week 7 loss to Baltimore, adding six catches for 71 yards and two touchdowns on six targets.
The running back split was as disgusting as was rumored, with White splitting time with Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker. White’s trump card was holding a majority of the snaps due mostly to Tampa Bay’s negative game script and his role as the receiving back. The Ravens lost him out of the backfield multiple times on screens, including his final touchdown in garbage time where both Ravens linebackers chased a crossing route and left White wide open. He will be hard to trust against the Falcons next week, but he also might be Tampa’s WR1.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #15
Ladd McConkey caught 5-of-7 targets for 46 yards in the Chargers’ Week 7 loss to the Cardinals.
McConkey was victimized by two uncharacteristic drops as the Chargers were forced to the air 39 times against a Cardinals defense that emphasized stopping the run. While the seven targets were nice, the short-area role of McConkey in a typically low pass volume offense leaves a lot to be desired as far as fantasy expectations moving forward are concerned. Up next for McConkey and the Chargers is a reeling Saints team in Week 8.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #5
Joshua Palmer caught 4-of-5 targets for 63 yards in the Chargers’ Week 7 loss to the Cardinals.
Palmer played with a heavy brace on his injured elbow but managed to finish second in receiving on a night quarterback Justin Herbert threw an uncharacteristic 39 passes. Even with the increased pass volume, Palmer managed just five targets as the offense functioned primarily through Will Dissly against the zone-heavy Cardinals defense. Palmer should have better fantasy days ahead if he can shake the string of injuries he has suffered early in the season.
  • TB Quarterback #6
Baker Mayfield completed 31-of-45 passes for 370 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in Tampa’s 41-31 Week 7 loss against the Ravens.
He added four carries for 10 yards. A successful onside kick and a quick three-and-out while trailing in garbage time gave Mayfield time to compile an additional 165 passing yards and make the overall line quite respectable. There were portions of this game where the Buccaneers looked overwhelmed without Mike Evans and Mayfield was fortunate to escape with only three sacks. A 4-3 mid-off with the Falcons awaits for pole position in the NFC South. It’s hard to predict how Mayfield and Liam Coen will adjust without Chris Godwin and with Evans likely questionable at best for the game, but Mayfield should at least be a plausible low-end QB1 in Week 8.
  • LAC Tight End #81
Will Dissly caught 8-of-11 targets for 81 yards in the Chargers’ Week 7 loss to the Cardinals.
Dissly stepped into the lead tight end role after Hayden Hurst was deemed inactive 90-minutes prior to first kick, going on to lead the team in target, receptions, and receiving yardage against the zone-heavy Cardinals defense. Although he is unlikely to return many fantasy performances as good as this one, managers in deep leagues can do worse than Dissly for as long as Hurst remains out of action.
  • LAC Running Back #30
Kimani Vidal rushed three times for 10 yards in the Chargers’ Week 7 loss to the Cardinals, adding nine yards on his lone reception.
Vidal played well behind lead back J.K. Dobbins in this one, with the lead back’s 17 opportunities trumping the four of the rookie’s. Vidal has a chance to carve out a greater workload when the Chargers face a Saints defense allowing the most yards before contact per attempt in the league in Week 8.
  • LAC Running Back #27
J.K. Dobbins rushed 14 times for 40 yards in the Chargers’ Week 7 loss to the Cardinals, adding 26 yards on three receptions.
The Chargers managed just 2.7 yards per carry as a team against a Cardinals defense that had allowed 153 yards on the ground per game during the first six weeks of the 2024 regular season. With Dobbins struggling to find running room, the Chargers turned to the air as quarterback Justin Herbert attempted a season-high 39 passes. Even so, Dobbins remained the clear and away top running back with Gus Edwards on injured reserve, meaning we should see better fantasy days ahead for the oft injured veteran. Dobbins and the Chargers get a beautiful on-paper matchup against a Saints defense allowing the most yards before contact per rush attempt in the league in Week 8.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #4
Zay Flowers caught his only target for 11 yards in Baltimore’s Week 7 win over the Buccaneers.
He added a 19-yard carry. Really helped you out, didn’t he? Flowers also had a fumble clank off his helmet when he was in motion in the second quarter. This was largely about Rashod Bateman winning deep routes and Lamar Jackson rewarding Bateman rather than anything Flowers did wrong. Flowers falls back into the WR3 ranks with Bateman’s recent emergence, even if he is the more consistently-targeted player.
  • LAC Quarterback #10
Justin Herbert completed 27-of-39 passes for 349 yards in the Chargers’ 17-15, Week 7 loss to the Cardinals, adding eight yards on two carries.
The Chargers clearly struggled in the red zone after managing just five field goals and no touchdowns, but the bigger story was an ineffective run game that averaged only 2.7 yards per carry against a Cardinals defense that had allowed 153 yards on the ground per game during the first six weeks. Herbert turned to his tight ends against the zone-heavy Cardinals defense, feeding Will Dissly 11 targets on the evening. The 3-3 Chargers fall another half game behind the Chiefs in the AFC West and need to turn things around after starting the season with two consecutive wins as they fight to stay alive in the AFC wildcard race nearing the halfway point of the season. Up next for Herbert and the Chargers are the injury-riddled Saints at home in Week 8.
