  • FA Wide Receiver #13

Jacoby Jones will start against the Dolphins Sunday if Kevin Walter (collarbone) can’t go.
Jones has plenty of talent and explosiveness, but inconsistency has been an issue throughout his career. And now that the Texans are running more effectively and often than ever before, Jones’ target count could be an issue. Still, there’s enough upside here to make an add just in case Walter’s collarbone issue lingers. Bryant Johnson would become the third receiver in that case.
  • FA Head Coach

    Saints fired HC Dennis Allen.
The Saints started the season with a 2-0 record while outscoring opponents 91-29. Since then, the team has lost seven straight games while looking increasingly uncompetitive, but the final straw was Week 9’s 23-22 loss to the Panthers. Allen did his best to rebuild his reputation as the former Raiders’ coach who went 8-28 from 2012-2014, and at times, appeared to have the Saints moving in the right direction. Last year he delivered a 9-8 season after winning four of his team’s final five games, but this is clearly a roster that’s trending toward a complete overhaul. The team is expected to name special teams coach Darren Rizzi, who interviewed for the Saints’ head coaching job in 2022, as its interim head coach. Allen’s tenure with the Saints went just over two seasons, and his final record with the team is a disappointing 18-25. It seems unlikely he would be a candidate for any head coaching jobs in the future after two failed stints.
  • Running Back #33
Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports free agent RB Boston Scott “is fully healthy” after recovering from a partially torn meniscus he suffered before the start of the season.
Scott was released from the Steelers in September and has been working his way back from his injury over the last two months. The veteran running back is now hoping to join a team in the coming days and could have plenty of suitors. Scott caught on with the Eagles in 2018 but didn’t start making an offensive impact until 2019. He’s a versatile weapon out of the backfield who has rushed for over 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns in limited roles while also racking up 71 receptions for 566 yards and one touchdown. His skillset should have several teams intrigued as he looks to catch on with a team for the second half of the season.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #11
Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports that A.J. Brown’s knee injury is not considered serious and that he “is expected to be fine.”
According to Schultz, Brown will undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the full extent of his injury, but he’s believed to have avoided anything serious. Brown left Sunday’s game in the third quarter and did not return to the field. While the initial reports are concerning, we’ve seen teams downplay the severity of a player’s injury only for said player to still miss time. Fantasy managers don’t need to panic at this time, but Brown’s name will be one to watch on this week’s injury report.
  • FA Offensive Coordinator
    Raiders fired OC Luke Getsy.
Already on the hot seat, Getsy was fired after a fiasco of a loss to the Bengals on Sunday, Getsy’s Bears track record suggested he was a poor hire all along in Vegas, though the team’s severe talent deficiencies make it unclear what he could have really done differently. He was still stuffing the stat sheet for Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers. Coach Antonio Pierce undoubtedly wants a greater run-game commitment, but that is easier said than done with Alexander Mattison and Zamir White. Perhaps 40-year-old Getsy will reunite with Matt LaFleur in Green Bay. As for the Raiders, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports passing-game coordinator Scott Turner could be the next man up as play-caller.
  • MIN Wide Receiver #83
Jalen Nailor caught his only target for a seven-yard touchdown in the Vikings’ Week 9 win over the Colts.
Nailor took advantage of double coverage on Justin Jefferson to sneak into the flat in the red zone, scoring from seven yards out on a third down in the third quarter. His days of being a primary contributor to the offense are most definitely behind him as the team welcomed back tight end T.J. Hockenson, but there should be sporadic touchdowns from the veteran journeyman the rest of the way.
  • MIN Tight End #87
T.J. Hockenson caught 3-of-4 targets for 27 yards in the Vikings’ Week 9 win over the Colts.
Hockenson played about half of the team’s offensive snaps through three quarters but gave way to Josh Oliver for most of the final frame, with the latter catching a touchdown with just over two minutes left to play. Hockenson should continue to see his snap rate increase as he works his way back into game shape following a torn ACL suffered late in 2023.
  • MIN Wide Receiver #3
Jordan Addison caught all five targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings’ Week 9 win over the Colts.
Addison’s touchdown came on a wondrous grab on an even better throw from quarterback Sam Darnold, with the second-year wide receiver securing the catch while fully stretched out after Darnold heaved a pass off his back foot in the face of pressure. Addison’s five targets tied for second on the team behind alpha receiver Justin Jefferson, something that could hold true for as long as tight end T.J. Hockenson continues to see his snaps monitored.
  • MIN Wide Receiver #18
Justin Jefferson caught 7-of-9 targets for 137 yards in the Vikings’ Week 9 win over the Colts, adding 22 pass yards on one attempt.
Jefferson also came down with an onside kick attempt to ice the game late in the fourth quarter after throwing a dime across the field to running back Aaron Jones earlier in the same frame. His 137 yards through the air handily led the team, with the only thing the alpha wide receiver failed to do being finding the end zone. Jefferson and the Vikings get a Jaguars opponent in Week 10 that serves as one of the clear pass-funnel matchups in the league.
  • MIN Running Back #33
Aaron Jones rushed 21 times for 64 yards in the Vikings’ Week 9 win over the Colts, adding 18 yards on four receptions.
The Vikings really struggled to move the ball throughout the first half, heading into the break with a 7-0 deficit. Jones struggled to find room as the team struggled on the scoreboard, eventually breaking through in the fourth quarter to make his fantasy day not a total loss. A 22-yard reception thrown by wide receiver Justin Jefferson helped in that endeavor, although the rest of his four catches went for negative yards. Jones and the Vikings are likely to find more room against the floundering Jaguars on the road in Week 10.
  • MIN Quarterback #14
Sam Darnold completed 28-of-34 passes for 290 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Vikings’ 21-13, Week 9 win over the Colts, adding 14 yards on four carries and losing a fumble.
The lost fumble came in the second quarter when the Colts scooped up a strip sack and returned it for seven, which went down as the only points scored by either team in the first half. Darnold and the Vikings came out firing in the third quarter, finding the end zone on their first two possessions after the break to retake control of the game. The team added one more score with just over two minutes remaining in the game to will their way to 6-2, now just a half game back from the division-leading Lions in a tight NFC North. The Vikings hit the road in Week 10 to face the floundering Jaguars in Jacksonville.
