Jaguars signed WR John Matthews from their practice squad.
Matthews will serve as the Jags’ fifth receiver if he’s active this week. Per Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union, Matthews was elevated to the active roster to block the Colts from signing him with Austin Collie (concussion) out.

Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort said the team is going to be “active” in free agency.
With over $76 million in cap space, we would expect nothing less. Arizona has more cap space in 2025 than all but three teams. The Cardinals’ offense was solid in 2024 but failed to reach its full potential. Having drafted offensive players with their first pick in three consecutive drafts, you would expect more than a 12-place finish in scoring. As Ossenfort noted, the team also has a few key extensions to make. Trey McBride just posted a breakout season of 111 receptions for 1,146 yards and only has one year left on his rookie contract. Keeping him around long-term will be one of the front office’s top priorities heading into the offseason.
  • FA Tight End #14
    Bears released TE Gerald Everett.
The move is hardly a surprise. Everett was brought in as one of OC Shane Waldron’s guys. The two had worked together for five years before 2024. Everett held a part-time role early in the season but quickly fell out of the mix on offense. Waldron was fired well before the end of the season. Everett ended the year with eight catches for 36 yards. His release will save the Bears $5.5 million in cap space. Soon to be 31 years old, Everett will look for work as a backup tight end in 2025.
  • BAL Kicker #9
The NFL has spoken to three women who have accused Justin Tucker of inappropriate sexual behavior.
Per The Baltimore Banner’s team of journalists reporting on the accusations, league officials were in Baltimore this week to speak with the three women. Two more women are expected to meet with the league in the coming weeks. There a 16 massage therapists spanning eight spas who have accused Tucker of inappropriate behavior. Head coach John Harbaugh previously said the Ravens have a “kind of zero tolerance” policy for players accused of sexual misconduct. The Ravens will likely let the league’s investigation run its course before taking any action, but it’s possible Tucker has taken his last snap in Baltimore.
  • CIN Long Snapper #48
Bengals signed LS Cal Adomitis to a one-year contract extension.
The Bengals are getting their big names squared away early with Adomitis and punter Ryan Rehkow both receiving contract extensions in the past week. Adomitis signed in Cincy as a UDFA in 2022 and has been with the team ever since. He logged three special teams tackles in 2024.
  • LAR Front Office
Jaguars interviewed Rams director of scouting strategy James Gladstone for their general manager vacancy.
Gladstone is one of five finalists for the Jags’ general manager vacancy. He previously participated in a virtual interview and is in Jacksonville for his second interview with the team. Gladstone has been with the Rams for eight seasons and has held his current title for four. Though the Rams haven’t always had the most resources during the draft, Gladstone’s department hit it out of the park this time around, nabbing a pair of standout defensive linemen in eventual DROY Jared Verse and Braden Fiske with their first two picks. He has worked closely with Rams GM Les Snead and is well on his way to a general manager job of his own at this pace.
  • NO Defensive Coordinator
FOX NFL’s Jordan Schultz reports the Saints have hired 49ers assistant HC Brandon Staley for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Staley was always going to be the pick once New Orleans tabbed Kellen Moore as their next head coach. Moore spent a year as the Chargers’ offensive coordinator during Staley’s tenure as the team’s head coach. The roles will be reversed in The Big Easy. Staley called the league’s top defense in his only season as the Rams’ defensive coordinator before struggling to get his side of the ball in order with the Chargers. After the team fired him in 2023, Staley joined the 49ers staff. If all goes well in New Orleans, Staley could be in the running for another head coaching job in a few years.
  • NYJ Quarterback #8
Aaron Rodgers said he’s hoping to join a “good team” that wants him if he continues playing in 2025.
On the surface, it seems simple enough, but how many legitimate contenders will be interested in Rodgers as a full-time starter? There are only a handful of teams that look like contenders that may be interested in Rodgers’ services next season, which is why teams like the Steelers and Rams have been floated as potential destinations. Of course, the Rams would have to move on from Matthew Stafford before they would consider bringing somebody like Rodgers aboard. With a long offseason ahead, teams will have plenty of time to decide if Rodgers is a fit as a short-term fix or if they’d prefer to stay away from a player whose performance may not be worth the headache that has followed him as of late.
  • FA Defensive Tackle #98
    Bengals released DT Sheldon Rankins.
Following a disappointing 2024 season, the Bengals have opted to part ways with Rankins. After signing a two-year, $24.5 million contract last offseason, multiple injuries and an illness limited Rankins to just seven games (all starts) of action. Per Over the Cap, the move will save the Bengals $9.6 million against the salary cap. Rankins, who turns 31 in April, was drafted in the first round by the Saints in 2016 and has also spent time with the Texans and Jets. He’s recorded 30.5 career sacks during his nine NFL seasons, and should still have something to offer a roster in need of depth along the d-line.
  • FA Cornerback #23
    Panthers released CB Dane Jackson.
According to Over the Cap, the release of Jackson creates a cap savings of $3.35 million for the Panthers. Jackson signed a two-year contract with the Panthers last offseason but opened the season on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury he suffered in training camp. Jackson appeared in nine games last season while making three starts. He broke up two passes while earning a PFF coverage grade of 36.4. At 28 years old, Jackson should have plenty to offer another team as veteran depth. Jackson has started 31 of the 61 games he’s appeared in during his career and made 14 starts in 2022.
  • LAC Cornerback #22
Chargers signed S Elijah Molden to a three-year, $18.75 million contract.
The deal includes $13.5 million guaranteed. Acquired from the Titans for a bag of footballs near final cuts, 26-year-old Molden blossomed, posting a career year under player’s coach Jim Harbaugh. His season did end on a sour note, as he suffered a Week 17 broken leg before requiring meniscus surgery in January. That’s a lot to rehab from in one offseason, but the Bolts are obviously confident Molden will be ready to go come Week 1. Solid in every phase of the game, Molden could graduate to near every-snap status in 2025. He played 78 percent of Los Angeles’ defensive snaps in 2024.
